Russell Simmons Goes At Bill Cosby
Posted on Friday, November 6th, 2009 at 10:14 amRussell Simmons has grown tired of Bill Cosby’s attacks on hip-hop. He writes on his GlobalGrind.com:
“Bill Cosby is an example of someone from the older generation who has consistently blamed the poets and asked suffering community members to bare the full burden of guilt for the struggles that they endure… What they don’t understand is that the young people who they criticize did not create their own realities. They did not create the crumbling education system that we school them in. They did not create the drug epidemic and drug wars that have resulted in a dysfunctional family structure. They did not create the healthcare crisis that does not treat them. They did not create the culture of violence that they fall victim to.”
Fun Facts: Cosby recently released his own rap project, Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency. And Russell Simmons is the third-richest figure in hip-hop, having an estimated net worth of 340-million dollars. He’s behind Jay-Z with 547-million and Sean “Diddy” Combs with 358-million.

While I understand a lot of people don’t agree with Bill Cosby, he does speak the truth about a lot of things he say, whether we want to hear it or not.
He may have some points, but how can you come out the gate for years attacking a culture, and not have an alternative. Bill cosby has accomplished some great things in the entertainment world, but at the same time, he did not offer anything nurturing for today’s generation, which he constantly feels the need to complain about. We as a people will never move completely forward if we don’t eliminate this hate between the old and new generations. IF leaders want us as the younger generation to be more positive, then don’t approach us with negativity. Don’t sell us out to white america and the media before trying to sit us down and actually teach and guide us. just a thought gor Bill and Gladys and any other old school who has a problem with HIP HOP!!!
YEAH GIFT!!!!!!!! TOOK THE WORDS OUTTA MY MOUTH
