It’s appx. 3:15PT and 6:15EST…..Just got word that EVERYONE is buzzing backstage about the Michael Jackson Tribute.

It was said to have originally been determined that Chris Brown, Usher, Neyo, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z and Dream would all be an active part of the Michael Jackson Tribute. 

But the latest word is Chris Brown has been denied!!!! Word backstage from all the celebrities and producers is that Chris Brown and his handlers literally begged the BET execs to reconsider. Insiders say, “Michael Jackson is/was Chris’ idol and this tribute means the world to him.”

Head honchos fear a backlash if they allow Chris to perform since emotions are still so strong about the Rihanna assault incident. They don’t want Chris’ drama to overshadow the networks Michael Jackson tribute.

I am told that Chris Brown’s entire team is STILL WORKING AT THIS MINUTE to convince BET execs that they should allow Chris to perform.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed that something is said or done over the course of the next hour and a half to change the minds of the execs. I said it before and I’ll say it again, this is about paying homage to a legend. This is not about people’s personal agendas or hang ups. At a time like this we should cast all drama aside and look at the big picture. ONLY Chris Brown can do a salute to MJ real justice. The other artists will be great too…..but ONLY Chris Brown can kill this the right way.

Celebrity Alert was on high as everyone in Black Hollywood swooned to LA this weekend in preparation for the 2009 BET Awards tomorrow night as well as the 22nd Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards which took place Friday…

It looks like the powers that be over at BET have heard our requests.  (Shouts to GQ)

The good news is that  Usher, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce , Neyo, Jay-Z  will all be on hand to pay Tribute to Michael Jackson. 

Usher is said to have reached out to them immediately and is rushing back to LA to be part of the show. Beyonce and Ne-Yo have  also edited their sets to pay tribute. 

The not so good news is that The Dream will also be singing as part of the tribute….jokes!

The awards air Sunday night, live from the Shrine Auditorium in LA. 

Some folks are wondering how/ why Beyonce is performing in the tribute. Perhaps this explains it…

Beyonce calls Michael Jackson her all time idol and has taken his death to heart. She performed this tribute on stage last night at one of her concert stops.

The BET Awards are this Sunday in LA at the Shrine auditorium and I hear they are scrambling to figure out who will do the Michael Jackson Tribute.

I nominate Usher and Chris Brown. Usher has the voice to do it by far, but Chris CANNOT be touched when it comes to dancing and stage presence…..Neyo may be a good touch as well.

I realize Chris Brown’s tainted image could make it difficult for BET to grant him the tribute spot. Nevermind the drama, scandal and opinions for just one night BET…..let’s give MJ a send off that even the Angels in Heaven will remember!!!!

This Michael Jackson tribute has to be fierce and a reflection of his legacy, life, and art. It must honor him impeccably and leave a memorable and satisfying impression in the minds of viewers for years to come.

The lights are dimmed and the date has been announced for the 2009 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors celebration, which airs on October 12th taped from the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM). Comedian Tracy Morgan will return to host the sixth annual show for the third time in a row. 

Now if you’re paying attention, Hip-Hop Honors will only be paying tribute to Def Jam artists, both past and present.. And that may just be enough. Going back over the 25 years of existence, Def Jam housed many infamous acts including Run DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Rihanna and Young Jeezy, among many others.

No word on performers yet, but with the caliber of talent lined up it’s bound to be a star-studded affair. 

Make sure you mark your calendars now– OCTOBER 12th at 9:00 PM ET/PT.

Since witnessing Eminem getting tea-bagged by actor/comedian Sacha Baron Cohen on the 2009 MTV Movie Awards this past Sunday, all that everyone can whisper about is whether or not it was staged. Wellllll… we here at EgyptSaidSo.com even went back and forth about this, with some thinking that it was staged and some not quite convinced.

MTV writer  Scott Aukerman has finally shed some light on the chin-check and admits that the public ass-in-yo-face moment was indeed staged.

He blogs:

“Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged. That’s all anyone wants to talk about, so let’s get it out of the way. They rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show then. Okay, you can stop reading this blog now!”

So now the only question that remains is WHY IN THE HELL DID EM AGREE TO HAVE ANOTHER MAN’S BALL SACKS ALL UP IN HIS GRILL?
