Serena Williams Gets Emotional After Wimbledon Victory

After being sidelined for a year due to health challenges, including a near death experience from blood clots, Serena Williams celebrated her first victory in a triumphant return at Wimbledon. The tennis star, who says she is not much of a crier, could not hold back her emotions after defeating Aravane Rezai. Concerning her comeback, the four-time Wimbledon champ shared:

I didn’t expect to have any emotions. I just expected to walk off. But I was pretty excited. … I’ve been through a lot of things that aren’t normal, things you guys don’t even know about. It’s been a long, arduous road. I’m not a crier, so I don’t know. It think it was something in my eyes.  I kept thinking, This is Wimbledon, Centre Court, defending champion. It doesn’t get any bigger than that.”

Aww, so proud of you Serena! It is amazing to see her return so strong after all she has been through. What a comeback! You earned the right to get emotional after that! *wink*

Congrats!

Yesterday Keri Hilson met one of music greats…Lauryn Hill. The R&B singer was ecstatic and decided to share her thoughts via Twitter:

I woke up thinkin, “Now…how can I meet Michael Jackson?” Then I thought about it…guess I can wait. Guess that was random to you. Only two ppl I ever really wanted to meet are Lauryn Hill & M.J. EXCLUSIVE: Q Parker Matures from P. Diddy’s 112 Boy Band Into A Full Grown Man!

Here’s a shot from Q’s new calendar. Some morning eye candy………

Grammy and ASCAP award winning singer/songwriter Q Parker is probably best known as the soulful heartthrob member of the the multi-platinum quartet “112.”  With a string of R&B and crossover hits to their credit, plus nearly 20 million albums, millions of singles and countless ringtones sold, 112′s place is cemented in music history.

The present finds Q Parker focusing on developing his individual brand for longterm benefit. This includes recording as a solo artist, writing songs for other established artists, vocal coaching, providing artist development guidance to young talent and acting.

Constantly touring around the US and overseas, less than 24 hours ago he headed to Australia, the UK and Germany for a 30 day live performance tour with bandmate, Michael Keith of 112. Before he left we were able to squeeze some EXCLUSIVE details out of him.

On deck for a release in 2011 is Q’s highly anticipated, sexy, solo album entitled “Q Parker: The Manual.” He shared that a few months ago he was presented with three different record deal opportunities with large labels without even seeking a deal. After carefully thinking things through Q decided it made sense for him to take his time to create records he was really passionate about. Good thing he did, because taking the additional time helped him land timeless R&B heat from hitmakers Chuck Harmony (producer for Chrisette Michele and Ne-Yo), Oak Felder (producer for Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj) and Carvin & Ivan (production team for Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott, Jaheim).

Tevin Campbell Performs at R&B Live in Hollywood

EgyptSaidSo.com was on the scene last night to see a blast from the past performance by singer Tevin Campbell. And although Campbell refused to give us an interview, we still enjoyed his show. Now I will say, Mr. “I’m Ready” did not look all together last night, he looked a little unkept. BUT, we’re not judging, check out the clip of the performance for yourselves…

It was a little sad to see him trying his hardest to belt out those tunes, but he managed to get it done. Campbell performed a set of four songs, which included some of his hits “I’m Ready” and “Can We Talk.”

The best part of the show was the host, comedian DeRay Davis, who grabbed the mic and sang a few notes here and there. Who knew that a comedian could sing like that!!

We give a hearty clap for DeRay’s mic-jonsin’ and say a prayer for Tevin Campbell. Oh, before I go here’s the kicker– Campbell addressed the audience before he began singing claiming that he knows he’s been missing in action for the last five years or so… and he’s been performing on BROADWAY in NYC???!!@??! REALLY????

Did anybody else know this or am I just oblivious to this tidbit???
