Don’t call it a comeback!…..Chris Brown participated in a game of b-ball recently and was greeted by a stadium of screaming young girls. It’s been a tense year for him but something tells me he’ll be just fine. Rihanna was clearly not a thought on the minds of these teens.
The 90’s mega group Boyz 2 Men has lost another member- temporarily that is. Two years ago Mike (Bass)McCrary left the group due to health problems and “creative differences”. Now, Shawn Stockman is missing in action because he caught the H1N1 Virus….that’s right, SWINE FLU!
Nate and Wanya were forced to perform at the Soul Train Awards as a duo because of Shawn’s condition. Nate told CNN:
“We tour eight months out of the year, and we are always traveling around. It’s hectic for us always being in airplanes and airports. He got sick and it hit him pretty hard….. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened earlier to be honest.” Nate added that he’d talked to Shawn earlier in the day and that he’s “doing much better.”
See- and ya’ll think I’m a coo-coo bird for wearing my rhinestone studded mask at the airport. (stare)

Bobbi Kristina is looking more and more like Bobby Brown’s twin…..
Whitney Houston credits her daughter, 15-year-old Bobbi Kristina, with helping her come back to the music world. Whit Whit tells Britain’s Sky News:
“She was with me every step of the way. When I get discouraged and I get like, ‘This is tiring, this is wearing me out, I’m just not at that point,’ she’d just go, ‘No mom, you can do this, get up, get up.’ She encourages me and inspires me, when I look at her and I look at her eyes and I see myself, I go ‘Okay I can do this.’” Houston says moving down the California coast to Laguna Beach made her “comfortable with being left alone, just being a mom whisking her daughter off to school. I liked that vibe, I liked that feeling because I never really had the opportunity.”

Jennifer Lopez has created another scent, but this time inspired by her twins. The perfume is called My Glow (referring to her pregnancy) and will hit stores in October.
“Every baby is an angel,” says J- Lo which is captured by the angel as the cap of the perfume.
The collection started with the original in 2003 and was followed by Miami Glow, Love at First Glow, Glow After Dark, Glow Shimmer and Sunkissed Glow.
While J-Lo’s perfume line is doing well, her Sweetface clothing line is not. Jennifer has decided to halt all production of the clothing line in the U.S. Lopez plans on relaunching the line after some major revisions.
After appearing in court for a felony attempted assault earlier this year in an Arizona prison, a judge has decided not to send DMX back to jail after he pled guilty to felony attempted aggravated assault a few weeks back. Instead, he got 18 months probation, fees and fines, and credit for time served.
Now that he’s a free man (I give it a month), X says he’s officially ready to announce his return to the rap game:
“I’m working on the album right now,” he explained in an interview. “Getting this sh*t done. I got a few more songs to go. I got a crazy joint with Sean Kingston. F*cking sick, yo. Fire. And I got some sh*t with Swizz that’s ridiculous…I just hit Kanye West the other day for some beats. Also, the same people that I been f*cking with, like Dame Grease. I’ve been working on this project for so long, I forgot who else gave me f*cking beats…I wanna shut n*ggas the f*ck up! I’m still on probation, so it is what it is. I’m just working man. That’s where my focus is, work…Hopefully [the album comes out] this year. I’m just getting it done. The release will be in the hands of the powers that be.”
Wasn’t he just talking about dropping a gospel album as recent as last month???? Typical….Peeps always turn to God when they’re in trouble, but the minute the coast is clear….it’s back to dropping F bombs all over the place.

It looks like Rihanna and Chris Brown are both moving on to bigger things- but with opposing films, not significant others.
Sources are buzzing that Rih Rih who’s in New York to work on her new album, is also taking acting lessons while in the Big Apple.
“Rihanna will start filming ‘Personal Protection’ later this year,” says our insider. “She’s not ready, actingwise, yet, so she’s meeting with a coach.” (smart girl! first impression is a lasting impression)
Chris Brown, on the other hand, has an untitled project that’s said to be a “tearjerker,” according to his homie. “Chris plays a homeless character,” says the friend. “It’s a real rags-to-riches story and should be good for his image.” Chris will film for three weeks over the summer in both L.A. and Memphis.
I’m happy to see he’s starting to come out of hiding!! I’ll give it until September and he’ll be selling out shows again. The public has a short memory span when it comes to stars.
Rapper DMX has been released from an Arizona prison after serving over 90-days in jail on drugs, fraud and animal cruelty charges stemming from various infractions in 2008. X was originally supposed to serve a 90-day stint, but his sentence was extended after he allegedly got into an alteration with a corrections officer.
While in the slammer X said that upon his release from jail, he plans to open up a Christian ministry… Let’s see if he can keep his nose clean long enough to make his words come true.
Word on the street is that the King of Pop is looking for some new dance moves!
Michael Jackson is preparing for his tour and has enlisted Disney favorite Kenny Ortega.
Ortega is responsible for directing the hit Disney flick High School Musical, old school flick Dirty Dancing, as well as MJ back on his Dangerous and HIStory world tours.
The show will consist of 10 individuals, two women and 8 men, who’ll be joining Jacko on stage. Mike will be performing 18 to 22 songs and has a show budget of around $20 million. Adding that “The stage set, choreography, costumes, lighting, effects and overall production will be of the highest standard and are pushing state-of-the-art.”
The show is scheduled to begin July 8th in London.
Brandy is polishing up her acting chops again! The singer/ actress has landed a role on ABC’s upcoming series “This Little Piggy.” The show is about a family man who is forced to take in his younger brother and sister when times get tough. Brandy plays the high maintenance wife of the younger brother, played by Jeff Davis. the show is set to kick off for the 2009-2010 season.

Wanda Sykes has designs on joining the late night talk show fray with a new project slated for a fall debut.
The comedienne has signed a deal with FOX for a Saturday night show, which may serve as a replacement the long-running sketch comedy show ‘MADtv,’ which was canceled last year.
In a news release the network said the ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and ‘The New Adventures of Old Christine’ star would be the host of a “topical program, “which include panel discussions about current events.
Sounds like a free TV version of the long-running HBO weekly chat-fest, ‘Real Time with Bill Maher.’
The Emmy Award winning host of the long-running syndicated ‘Montel Williams’ show will helm is very own radio program, ‘Montel Across America,’ debuting April 6 on the Air America radio network.”After being on television for more than 17 years, I’m looking forward to engaging in lively conversations and interacting with the American public,” Williams, 52, said about the show, airing weekdays from 9am-12pm EST on radio stations across the country and also streaming live online at www.airamerica.com .

Lou Rawls‘ life story will be turned into a movie. The Hollywood Reporter says that former Grey’s Anatomy co-star Isaiah Washington will play the late soul and jazz star and voice actor. A production company has purchased a script penned by Lou Rawls Junior that’s said to be an uncensored take on the onetime gospel singer and protege of Sam Cooke who became a nightclub star.
This comes just in the nick of time for Isaiah considering news dropped two days ago about a possible eviction from his home. So what do you think? Is Isaiah a good choice to play Lou Rawls or should they have picked someone else?
