Video – Neighbors Know My Name – Trey Songz

Posted on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at 11:34 am

Last night “106th & Park” debuted Trey Songz’ new video, “Neighbors Know My Name”…

Trey Songz can make a grown woman blush. *smiles* The lucky woman in this video is none other than Victoria Secret model Jessica White.

I am not sure if you heard or not, but there have been a few rumors going around that Trey might be “swinging for the same team”…OH-EMMM-GEEE!!! No worries, Trey quickly nipped that in the bud.

During a recent radio interview he explained:

“You gotta ignore stuff like that, being an artist, because people are gonna say stuff about me daily. I’m so far from gay. The bigger I get, the more [stuff is said] about me. It’s cool with me.”

You go baby boy!…but umm really please don’t disappoint me!

And if you’re a Trey fan, you can catch him on the Blueprint Three tour with Jay-Z.

Chris Brown Show Sells Out

Posted on Monday, December 7th, 2009 at 12:30 am

cb-tour-1

Despite reports that tickets hadn’t sold well in markets like Houston and Dallas, Chris Brown’s ‘Fan Appreciation Tour’ sold out  in Washington D.C.

A mob of screaming teenage girls and boys (many with their mothers) came to see the trouble-plagued R&B singer, who kept the crowd on its feet with a one hour and five minute show full of hits from his previous CDs as well as songs from his new release, ‘Graffiti.’

Here’s the run of show via entertainment journalist Jawn Murray:

“C-Breezy kicked off his show with his new up-tempo dance track ‘I Can Transform Ya.’ Sporting all-black, Brown delighted the crowd with smash songs like ‘Run It,’ ‘Yo (Excuse Me Miss),’ ‘With You’ and ‘Wall To Wall.’
The piercing sound screams peaked when Brown removed his shirt for his seductively performed ‘Take You Down.’
Later, the 20-year-old singer looked like a choir director as he guided female fans through Jordin Sparks’ verses on the pop hit, ‘No Air.’ When Brown began to sing his new single ‘Crawl,’ fans crooned along with each word.
Then he closed the show with his hit ‘Forever’ before he took a bow, plugged an after party and said “Goodnight!”

Chris is donating a portion of the proceeds from the tour run to the Jenesee Center, which aids domestic violence victims, and Best Buddies International, which helps children and adults with developmental disabilities.

His new album “Graffiti” hits Stores tomorrow. His self-titled first album sold more than five-million units worldwide, but his new album, Graffitti, is being projected to sell fewer than 100,000 units in its first week. Yikes!!

Another One Bites The Dust…..

Posted on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 12:37 am

This just in!!! Giant magazine is folding.

giant-cover-kimora

Giant Magazine, Radio One’s bi-monthly publication of urban music and pop culture is no more. The broadcast company officially announced that it would be closing its doors today on its magazine after its debut in 2007 and publishing a total of 33 issues. The Giant brand will still be operable but under Radio One’s ‘Interactive One’ subsidiary online. Radio One is also responsible for NewsOne.com, Tv One, Hellobeautiful.com and Blackplanet.com.

Alicia Keys will be featured on the magazine’s final cover of the print edition, which lands on newsstands December 15th.

Speaking of biting the dust……

Lady GaGa did a “J-lo” while performing at her recent concert in Montreal. You’ll see her bust her tail at around the :20 second mark. But much like Jennifer Lopez & Beyonce, she got right back up and kept performing like a pro! Funny enough, she wound up falling THREE TIMES that night.

She later joked: “I’m like a drunk supermodel and I LOVE it!”

In Case You Missed It: Beyonce Thanksgiving Special

Posted on Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 at 12:35 am

When speaking about “Dangerously In Love” Bey says:

“I put my heart into that album . After playing the songs for my record label, they told me I didn’t have one hit on my album. Dangerously In Love, Naughty Girl, Me Myself & I, Baby Boy and my favorite Crazy In Love…But they told me I didn’t have ‘ONE’ hit on my album. I guess they were kind of right. I had ‘FIVE’”

She  later pulls a girl out of the audience to sing parts of “Naughty Girl”. After the girl belts out a verse Bey says “I didn’t ask you to try to take my job now”..lolol cute.

Not everyone is a fan of Beyonce……Beyonce’s “Video Phone” clip featuring Lady Gaga has tongues wagging, but not all the talk is positive. Bey recently drew fire from Camilla Bowles, (better known as the wife of Prince Charles of England) who denounced the video during a recent speaking engagement at the Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Center in South London.

Bowles said, “I am sure they trigger a response in some of the young people. I can never understand how they can get away with making those things,” adding that these types of images makes dealing with peer pressure even more difficult.

First the country of Egypt denounces Beyonce, and now England??? Maybe she needs to keep her hind parts here in the U.S. for a while.

Mo’ Nique Jokes On Amerie & Beyonce Dives Into Crowd

Posted on Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 2:06 pm

Mo’Nique’s Late Night Show is developing some legs as she’s finally getting into her zone as a talk show host. The other night Amerie came thru to talk about her grammy nominations and her new album “In Love & War”. Amerie clearly didn’t know that she was walking into a hailstorm of married man jokes but kudos to her for being a good sport. Love those boots too!

And on the subject of bad azz b*tches in heels, Check out this video of Beyonce crowd surfing during a recent concert in London….

Rumor has it this was all staged. Supposedly the hands we see passing her through the crowd are “hired” help. Either way, the theatrics were phenominal!! I don’t blame them for hiring ringers, regular fans would’ve mauled her.

Russian Roulette Premiere & Lil Kim’s Nose Bleed

Posted on Monday, November 16th, 2009 at 3:24 am

Rihanna’s disturbing video for “Russian Roulette” debuted during Friday night’s broadcast of 20-20 on A-B-C. In it, Rihanna is seen drowning, being shot at and imprisoned. The director,  Anthony Mandler says “I think that with this song and the meaning of this song and how loaded it all is…the only way to do it was to do something that was visually challenging. I think you can’t effect change unless you’re willing to take a risk. You can’t get people to pay attention and understand unless you’re willing to push the limit and try new things.”

I just got word that on December 15th, Def Jam will release a three-disc collector’s package containing Rihanna’s first three albums – Music of the Sun, A Girl Like Me, and Good Girl Gone Bad. The packaging will have space for a fourth disc, Rated R, which will be released next Monday.

Rihanna’s live performance from a secret venue in London streams tonight over the Internet on Nokia Live. Register to watch the show at Nokia.com/Rihanna.

On the subject of London Concert Dates…..

lil-kim-pic

Lil’ Kim’s camp is firing back at claims she pocketed a 20-thousand-dollar appearance fee and skipped out on a string of gigs in London. Sources say Kim told the promoter, Abstrakt Visions Entertainment, that she’d suffered a nosebleed in her hotel room the night before the first gig and then headed back to the U-S. But a rep for Kim tells Sister 2 Sister magazine, “We do not have a contract with Abstrakt Visions Entertainment and never received any money from them. Abstrakt Visions Entertainment is in the wrong for falsely promoting Lil’ Kim in London and will be dealt with accordingly.”

Let me find out….Are promoters now joining the ranks of publicists who throw false stories out to the press for a little bit of publicity? (rolling my eyes)

Tracy Morgan Empties Carnegie Hall

Posted on Wednesday, November 11th, 2009 at 2:44 am

tracy
Comedian Tracy Morgan is said to have caused quite a stir at Carnegie Hall on Friday night as he elaborated on and mimicked explicit sex acts, launched political rants, called homosexuality a “choice,” and noted of our president that “Obama is really changing the White House, because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out.”

The audience reacted with gasps, awkward chuckles and, in more than few cases, walkouts by older attendees who’d dropped in expecting Morgan’s PG-13 act from 30 Rock. “You want the clean Tracy?” Morgan asked them as they shuffled out. “Turn on the TV.”

Who in the world thought it was safe to take Tracy to Carnegie Hall?? That’s who I blame-not Tracy-but the promoter who obviously didn’t do their homework. Tracy has always been a loose cannon and that’s why we love him!! lololol….But seriously, do you think Tracy crossed a line??
