Today Nicci Gilbert of TV One’s “R&B Divas” stopped by to discuss her participation in my upcoming “Sister’s Keeper Shut-In” Friday at Clark Atlanta University.

But while she was here, she dropped a BOMB on the listening audience: Nicci announced for the very first time that Brownstone has decided to reunite!

YEAH! They brought us hits such as “Grapevine,” “5 Miles To Empty”  and “If You Love Me.” I am so happy that these girls have worked out whatever issues were going on, and decided to get that PAPER!

Nicci: Hey!!

Egypt: Okay, we’ve waited anxiously. What is this big announcement? She’s been so top secret about it. Secret squirrel.

Nicci: Okay. Theme song is playing. Ladies & gentleman, I have been praying about this. I have been scolded about this. I have been on my knees about this and I am very very happy to announce here, with my girl Egypt, and all of Atlanta, that we will be doing a Brownstone reunion record.

Egypt: Woahhhh!!!! So you know I have to grill you because we’ve had several conversations and you said nah, I don’t even want to sing anymore.

Nicci: Yeah you know what? I just kind of, really when I say I was on my knees, and I had to talk to people who I think understood what my fears were and I’m not going to get too deep into it because I really want you guys… I really take this journey on the show, Season 2 “R&B Diva’s” May 1^st plug…so I really go through this journey, but it was really about me just looking in the mirror and being honest with myself, you know what I mean, about what my issues were with music. You know, having an understanding as to how I can get past that and everywhere I go people stop me and they’re like, girl, are you crazy?? When are ya’ll going to sing???

Egypt: We miss Brownstone. Now Nikki let’s keep it real. You saw how many zero’s were on the check that you could possibly get if you really wanted.

Nicci: I mean, you know it’s a little bit of business. It’s a little bit of business involved in every decision I make. Maybe a lot of business. But you know, and the other part of it is I felt really in my heart more than anything, I felt like Maxee & Teisha, the other members of the group, really deserve this opportunity to shine with me.

Egypt: What have they been doing? Where are they?

Nicci: Maxee has been an incredible mother. She has a wonderful amazing son Nicoli, who’s my nephew. Mimi is probably on her doctorate PHD number five… she’s teaching and her children are grown and they’re beautiful. Kina’s in LA doing her thing and Teisha, our new member who’s amazing, is in Detroit and she’s like my sister so this is going to be incredible and we’re actually doing our reunion show in Atlanta.

Egypt: You heard it here first. There will be a Brownstone reunion!

Nicci: Yes!

Egypt: Can I host it?

Nicci: You better host it!

Egypt: There it is!

“Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” reality star Mimi Faust came by my show this morning to clear the air on some serious rumors that were going on. Yesterday, all over the internet were headlines saying that Stevie J took Mimi to court and got custody of their daughter Eva. There were also allegations of drugs. Mimi wanted to let everyone know the truth about what is really going on. Some highlights were: no, her hair is NOT falling out, Stevie doesn’t have custody and they’ve NEVER been to court, and she introduced us to a very special person in her life, her boyfriend Nikko, and let me tell you, there were certainly fireworks flying in the studio between them!

Egypt: Mimi Faust is in the building. Bomb alert. Bomb alert. Bomb alert. Now I don’t know if you’ve heard what transpired yesterday but all over the internet we saw the headlines that Stevie J took Mimi to court and got custody of their daughter. There were allegations of drugs. Mimi hi, good morning.

Mimi: Good morning.

Egypt: You look beautiful. Your hair doesn’t appear to be falling out.

Mimi: Not at all.

Egypt: They said you were losing weight because of stress. That doesn’t look to be the case.

Mimi: I’m in the gym.

Egypt: You look good. And she’s got a room full of men here and I hear we have a special announcement today as well right?

Mimi: Yes we do.

Egypt: Mimi Faust is in the building. I really love this lady. I do.

Mimi: Thank you Egypt I love you too.

Egypt: You know why? Because you’re transparent. She’s like look this is my mess and so what. I don’t care what ya’ll have to say about it.

Mimi: I really don’t.

Egypt: So the other day on the internet it all came out, because Stevie J tweets I have custody of my youngest. God is great. He’s alleging that he took you to court and got full custody. There were allegations of drugs and what not. Let’s go back for a minute, before we find out about the custody. What’s going on with ya’ll? Why can’t ya’ll be civil?

Mimi: I’ve tried. I’ve tried and I’ve tried. But I mean he’s just not. He’s just not that dude so.

Egypt: Mimi, you told me something in the room a minute ago. You said this is what it all boils down to. What is that?

Mimi: It all boils down to I’m not dealing with him anymore and I have someone else.

Egypt: You got a new man in your life.

Mimi: Absolutely.

Egypt: He’s in the studio with us right now. There’s actually 5 guys in here so if you look online you’re not going to know which one it is yet but I’ll let you meet him in a minute. So what happened? The other day you said you went by his house…

Mimi: This is what happened. His dad as in town. Eva has not seen her grandfather since she was maybe 18 months. I went over, dropped the baby off so she could spend time w her grandfather and that’s the gist of his having custody.

Egypt: Okay, so ya’ll never went to court?

Mimi: Never went to court ever.

Egypt: But he started calling you a lot of names you said when you went to drop her off. Why was this?

Mimi: I didn’t want to come in. He invited me in and I said why would I do that?

Egypt: You’ve been pulling back from that relationship.

Mimi: Completely. There is no relationship there. I try to co-parent. I’m not sure what he’s doing or trying to do. Obviously you see what he’s trying to do: messy, drama, lying still. Constant. It never stops.

Egypt: Well he has made it clear that he loves you. Will always love you. He just does not know how to be faithful.

Mimi: He needs to love the other one he’s with. Love her.

Egypt: So he’s still with Joseline?

Mimi: He’s with her everyday.

Egypt: She had a picture with a wedding ring on… an engagement ring on…

Mimi: Congratulations. Yes!! Yes!! {claps}

Egypt: {laughing}

Mimi: Congrats you two. Amazing.

Egypt: So, ya’ll want to meet the new boyfriend? You want to talk to him? She just told us that, so you do have custody of your child then?

Mimi: She’s with me.

Egypt: Sole custody or shared custody.

Mimi: We never went to court. We’ve never ever gone to court.

Egypt: If you’re just tuning in, pull up a seat, let’s talk round the water cooler. Mimi Faust is in here from “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” Things hit the fan a little bit ago, because Stevie J tweeted out I got custody of my youngest daughter, God is great. Then you tweet, ‘You’re too incompetent to take care of yourself, much less our daughter.”
Now your story is that he absolutely does not have custody of the daughter between you two.

Mimi: We’ve never been to court. Matter of fact, I dropped Eva off Saturday to him when he sent this tweet out, it was Saturday. And he texted me and said, after I dropped her off, that he was on his way down to Supreme Court. Supreme Court.

Egypt: He didn’t say Supreme… Stevie, did you say Supreme Court??

Mimi: To take Eva from me. I said you mean family court? And it’s Saturday. Really? What court you going to on Saturday?

Egypt: Now in all fairness, we’re not hearing Stevie J’s side of the story. I heard he just caught wind of it, so he may be calling in live. Stevie, you got a couple of minutes buddy. Call me up.

Mimi: Awesome.

Egypt: Now you say Mimi that all of this the lies, where do the drugs come in? Are you on drugs?

Mimi: I’ll take a drug test right now.

Egypt: Do you do recreational drugs?

Mimi: Let’s go take a drug test.

Egypt: Get the pee cup? You would take a test?

Mimi: I will.

Egypt: So you say that’s a lie as well?

Mimi: That’s a lie.

Egypt: But your reasoning for his lies are what?

Mimi: I don’t want to be with him anymore period.

Egypt: And he’s not taking it well, according to you. Not only that, there is a new boyfriend in the picture. Hi!

Nikko: Hi. How ya’ll doing? V103.

Egypt: Nikko is your name.

Nikko: Nikko is my name. N-I-K-K-O. Two k’s.

Egypt: Who do people tell you you look like Nikko? I’m about to run out the studio. Who do people tell you he looks like Mimi?

Nikko: I’m gonna let Mimi say it.

Mimi: He looks like himself.

Egypt: He look like Stevie J. Excuse me. {runs out of the studio}

Mimi: you better run. You better run Egypt!

Egypt: Alright I’m back I’m back. I’m Egypt’s alter ego.

Nikko: I get that a lot though, I get that a lot, but we come from different cloths though.

Egypt: How did ya’ll meet?

Mimi: We met years ago.

Nikko: Years ago, yeah.

Egypt: So this is someone whose come back into your life into the fold?

Mimi: Correct.

Egypt: You all had a love thing going on before Stevie? You like your producers don’t you?

Mimi: {Laughs}

Nikko: We was cool.

Mimi: I like what I like.

Egypt: So Nikko what do you like so much about Mimi?

Nikko: Man, she’s the one, look at her.

Egypt: The ONE?? Like put a ring on it the one?

Nikko: She’s the one.

Egypt: When a man says that they usually mean it. They usually know we’re the one before we know that they’re the one.

Mimi: Right.

Egypt: You’re glowing!

Nikko: I mean that glow is for a reason.

Mimi: I’m happy.

Egypt: Ya’ll tearing down the bedposts I can tell.

{Laughter}

Egypt: It’s too much. It’s getting too steamy up in here. We’re going to try to get Stevie J a chance to call up and tell his side of the story as well.

Egypt: Mimi Faust has been with us in the studio for the past 45 minutes. She explained that despite the rumors she does still have full custody of her daughter with Stevie J. She let us meet her new boyfriend Nikko. Come on back up to the microphone because you’re new to town. New to Atlanta. You said you’ve been here two months.

Nikko: About two and a half months I’ve been here. What’s up V103?

Egypt: What made you move here?

Nikko: Mimi.

Egypt: Wow. Oh, ya’ll are serious.

Nikko: Yeah, absolutely. We’re taking it all the way there.

Egypt: You just picked up and moved to follow this young lady here?

Nikko: Yeah. And I’m also bringing a project out here: The Nikko & Johnny project.

Egypt: Cause you’re a producer.

Egypt: She loves her producers. So, let me just say this. I appreciate you trusting us, coming up here and telling your story because I know this is your life, even though we watch it on TV, Mimi. Stevie J, we gave you an opportunity to call in and tell your side. He’s mad at me. He’s tweeting terroristic tweets to me…

Mimi: Yes.

Egypt: …for having you up here.

Mimi: He’s very childish.

Egypt: I’m sorry about that Stevie, but look I don’t make up the news, I just deliver it. Ya’ll make it up!

Mimi: He put it out there. He can say whatever he wants to say, but God forbid I speak out and say anything..

Egypt: Are we going to see all of this on the next season of “Love & Hip Hop?”

Mimi: You’re going to see all of this and then some.

Egypt: Nikko, you going to be on?

Nikko: Oh my Gosh you’re going to see so much. It’s going to be special, we’re making a movie.

Egypt: We’re going to have you come back up before the new premiere.

Mimi: Absolutely.

Egypt: And hopefully this relationship will be just as strong because there’s fireworks going off in the studio. I can’t take it Goodbye!

Marsha Ambrosius called in to not only welcome but me, but revealed that she is hard at work on her new album, the follow up to the Grammy Nominated, “Late Nights Early Mornings.”

Reality TV Star/Author, Toya Wright, “called out” Grammy Award nominated Atlantic Records recording artist, Musiq Soulchild, for standing her up at her wedding to Memphitz Wright. She said Musiq was supposed to sing at the ceremony. I had Musiq give Toya a “make good” with an impromptu serenade live on the air of his smash record “Love.”

Music Superproducer Jazze Pha weighed in on who he thought should play the roles of Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown in a movie about their lives. He also played a new music exclusive from his new artist, Gasner Allen.

Keith Sweat and I led a conversation about President Obama’s recent visit to ATL and the racist bumper stickers that are now being sold in Obama’s name. “Don’t Re-NIG in 2012,” “Lincoln freed the slaves and now Obama is enslaving the free.”

Nelly & Chilli gave their opinions on a phenomenon that has been discussed at length: “Why women can’t seem to find Mr. Right in Atlanta.”

Trina Braxton, Demetria McKinney and I shared details about our childbirth stories. PUUUUUSSSSHHHHH!!! lolol…

Veteran music executive turned reality television producer, Mona Scott Young joined my show to discuss the upcoming season of “Love And Hip Hop: ATL.” She also confirmed that the original cast of “Love And Hip Hop” would have another season, but perhaps Chrissy would not be joining them. Mona eluded that Chrissy and Jim Jones were working on a spin off of the show. She also mentioned that she’d like to possibly do “Love And Hip Hop” Cali next!

Rap’s Most Buzzworthy Newcomer, Waka Flaka Flame, and I laughed about some of the jobs we had as teenagers. I revealed that I used to be Chuck E Cheese in high school…..now that everyone knows that I’ve gotta kill ya! hehehe

This past Thursday I was the host of an exclusive V-103 “Soul Sessions” performance and Q&A session with R&B stars, Brandy and Monica.

Nicole Paultre-Bell, fiance of slain New York City groom-to-be Sean Bell and Dr. Steven Perry, author and CNN education contributor, each called in to share their thoughts on the Trayvon Martin killing. And I witnessed the most amazing thing……6,000 students from Clark, Morehouse, Spellman and Georgia Tech rallied on the steps of  Georgia Capital Building for the “I AM TRAYVON MARTIN” RALLY.

On last night’s episode of “Single Ladies” Val’s (Stacey Dash character) “perfect guy” turned out to be anything but, when in the throws of passion he announced he didn’t “dine on Southern cuisine.” *blank stare* For Val (and most women living in 2011 and not 1920) this was a major no-no and she cut dude loose. See ya!

For most, reciprocity is key to ensuring that your partner’s satisfaction is guaranteed, but some people out there are just plain selfish! They want all the perks of good lovin’ without having to give any good lovin’ themselves. As far as these love hogs are concerned, your needs don’t come before theirs between the sheets, and the selfish behavior can go way past the “Southern cuisine” issue.

This day was excellent as we celebrated and bought happiness to 5 of our unsung sheroes: Our MOTHERS. We look forward to next year’s celebration and anticipate serving more deserving women.

Last night, Common and Daymond John, the Founder of FUBU – For Us By Us, spoke at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem for AT&T’s “History Makers 28 Days” event.

As the host, Common highlighted several key individuals we celebrate during Black History Month. He inspired the crowd to “rethink possible” and take note of the outstanding African Americans who’ve opened doors for Black people today.

Guest speaker, Daymond John, shared intimate moments of using guerilla style marketing to creating a multimillion dollar clothing line, and establishing his brand marketing company, Shark Branding. John emphasized how following the mantra to “Rethink Possible” motivated him to persevere in times of hardship when creating these respective multi-million dollar companies.

The audience was filled with aspiring entrepreneurs looking to put their mark on Black history…OUR history.

While most of you were off from work and comfy in bed watching the newest episode of Maury over the holiday, I was honored to spend the day with Egypt Sherrod, founder of EgyptSaidSo.com and Midday Personality on NYC’s 107.5 WBLS-FM.

There are no days off in radio, so despite the snow and a sore body from a fun-filled ski weekend, Egypt was at the WBLS station bright and early doing what she does best!

With perfect ease, Egypt graced the mic like the seasoned pro that she is and flawlessly delivered the hottest celebrity and entertainment news to her millions of listeners.

In between commercials, this maven of multitasking and her extraordinary Executive Assistant Dawn Dai took to the web to make sure that EgyptSaidSo.com was up-to-date with the latest entertainment posts from her team. I seriously sat in amazement (and laughter…Egypt is funny) at how she manages to do it all and make it seem easy…I could barely keep up!

Of course what day with Egypt would be complete without a chance to test my radio host chops! Egypt and Dawn wasted no time giving me a news story of my own to record, just for fun of course, and it wasn’t too bad for the first time if I must say so myself.

Before I knew it the show had ended and it was time to say goodbye *sad face.* Even though I felt like time flew by too quickly, I learned so much from Egypt that I will be able to use long after this day is gone.

The most important lesson I learned? Hard work, dedication to your craft and a giving spirit definitely pays off and if you need an example….look no further than Egypt!

After a long day out and about we arrive home to our place of comfort….OUR BED! While you’re catching your Zzzz’s, did you ever realize that your personality type plays a major factor in the way that you sleep.

What?

I came across an interesting study today that found a correlation between six sleeping positions and the personality traits of the sleepers themselves.

Here’s what they had to say:

Fetal Position – Curled up on your side, holding the pillow. The personality of these sleepers tends to be shy and sensitive, though they may present a tough exterior to the world.

Soldier Position – Flat on your back with arms at your sides. Indicates a quiet and reserved personality who sets high standards.

Starfish Position – Lying on your back with arms and legs outstretched. Indicates a good listener who makes friends easily, but prefers not to be the center of attention.

Freefall Position - Flat on your stomach with arms at the head or ears. Indicates a brash and gregarious exterior who may inwardly be nervous and sensitive to criticism.

Log Position – On your side with legs outstretched and arms at your sides. Indicates a social, easygoing personality.

Yearner Position – Similar to the log, but with arms outstretched. Said to indicate a suspicious and cynical personality.

It comes every year.  That day of dread that seems to creep up out of no where.  You know that day…today…Valentine’s Day.  *cue shudders & frightful music*  Valentine’s Day is the one day a year when all single people are branded with a scarlet ‘S’ and singled out for pity stares and “your special person is out there somewhere” pep talks.  It can make a day all about celebrating love seem like the worst day of your life!  But just because you’re single doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate love.  Here are 4 things you can do to remove that ‘S’ on your chest and surround yourself with that loving feeling.

Go out with your friends. Now don’t get together and act all bitter and salty because “Valentine’s Day sucks” and start bashing the holiday, especially when we all know that if you’re booed up next year you’ll be the first person sending twitpics of your gifts.  Instead get together for some fun.  Find a happy hour and celebrate friendship, good times and all the money you saved not having to buy gifts!

Spend time with family. These are the people that love you single or not.  Nothing is better on Valentine’s Day than that unconditional love only family can give.  Soak it up!

Volunteer. Rather than sit around feeling sorry for yourself because no one is around to buy you an overpriced gift and dinner at a crowded restaurant, give a little love to someone that is less fortunate.  Volunteer at a food pantry or mentor a troubled child, not only will you feel grateful for all you do have, but the deed will do wonders for your heart and spirit.

Love the most important person in your life…YOU! Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to treat yourself to that long overdue “me time” you’ve been lacking. Whether it’s seeing a movie alone, going to the gym, finishing up that business plan or simply curling up with a good book and some ice cream, use this day to show yourself a little love.  We spend so much time caring for others that we neglect the one person that’s with us 24/7…take care of you!

Moral of the story is Valentine’s Day isn’t just for lovers! No need to sit around moping just because you’re single.  Spend the day showing love to those that have helped you through tough times, make you smile 365 days a year and most important show a little love to yourself!  Happy Valentine’s Day!!
