Naomi Campbell: Fashion for Relief T-shirts!

Supermodel Naomi Campbell may be “crazy” but she sure knows how to make a difference…

Naomi teamed up with London designer Vivienne Westwood to open a pop-up show selling design official t-shirts in aid of “Fashion for Relief” at Westfield. The T-shirts, which were unveiled last week at Naomi Campbell’s spectacular Fashion for Relief show, highlight some of the shocking statistics that women and girls are being faced with in Haiti. All monies will be donated to ” The White Ribbon Alliance to support the health needs and rights of women and girls around the world, with particular focus on its partners in Haiti, who at this time are helping to rebuild the healthcare system for mothers and babies”, according to event planners.

Naomi says: 

“I am delighted that Westfield London has partnered with myself and the White Ribbon Alliance to support this years Fashion for Relief in London. I am very grateful to Vivienne Westwood and her team for their dedication to this project whilst they themselves were in the midst of preparing for their own fashion week show. The Fashion for Relief Pop Up Shop at Westfield London has been such a huge success and I’m looking forward to my visit to Westfield tomorrow to personally help out.”

She went on to say:

Kris Jenner is on to the Next Daughter’s Career…

Kris Jenner, the mother/momager of Kim Kardashian and the rest of the Kardashian clan, has moved on to pimping out her younger daughter Kendall Kardashian. It seems that Kendall is now one of the new faces for Forever 21’s new line. Nevermind, the fact that Kendall is only 14-years-old. But, Kris has to keep herself busy some kind of way. Kim is finally making her own choices, Khloe is now booed up and married to NBA player Lamar Odom, and Kourtney is a new mommy to son Mason Dash (who was born on Monday). So, naturally it’s time for Kris to move on to handle the careers of Kendall and Kieley.

Allen Iverson announced last week that he was retiring from the NBA after 15 seasons. Now sources claim he is heading back to the Philadelphia 76ers. If this is true, that’ll be the quickest comeback from retirement since Jay-Z’s retirement from rap. 

Heads Up!! R. Kelly’s New Album’Untitled” drops today……. He’s teamed up with R&B singers Robin Thicke, The Dream and Tyrese for a new single titled “Pregnant”. Kelly recently told radio personality D-J Skee that the album is “pure excitement and pure truth. It’s grown up, it’s sexy… I’ve updated the whole [R. Kelly] brand.”

R. Kelly, who was acquitted in his highly publicized child-molestation case last year — said, “I’ve been laying low to go high. I’ve been watching over the whole industry, sitting in the stands watching the show so I can go back to the lab and do what I gotta do so I can get back on the stage.”

Mary J. Blige sheds a tear on the cover of her ninth studio album “Stronger with Each Tear”, arriving December 21. This final version is slightly different from the one that previously leaked. 

Zac Posen, the  29 year old fashion designer who dresses Hollywood’s major players, is creating a line for Target next spring. The collection will be available at most stores and online at Target.com from April 25 through May 30, according to WWD.com.

Target won’t cite prices yet, but previous Go series collections have ranged from $14.99 to $149.99. Posen’s own luxurious collection runs from $900 to $12,000 (like the infamous green dress Beyonce once wore). He charges up to $20,000 for custom pieces. Not bad for a 29 yr. old huh?

T-Pain and Smokey Robinson will be among the presenters on tomorrow’s Grammy Nominations Concert Live telecast. Maxwell and The Black Eyed Peas were previously announced as performers on the show, which airs live from L-A’s Club Nokia at 9 p-m [ET/PT] on C-B-S. L-L Cool J will host.

Rihanna Realease Party: Fashion Yes or Fashion Mess???

Rihanna celebrated her album release at the Superclub in NYC last night. She changed clothes half way through the party to uphold her fashion royalty stat. Do we like these looks? I can’t help but notice how dangerous the gold spike dress looks. Rih can commit first degree assault if she hugs someone.

Gucci Partners With Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige has partnered with fashion giant Gucci to develop a limited edition woman’s stainless steel twirl watch. The initiative will also benefit MJB’s recently opened center for woman she opened in NY, the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FAWN). A portion of the proceeds from the sales of Mary’s Gucci twirl watch will go to FAWN. The message behind the watch, which was designed by Giannini, is “fashion isn’t just about clothes and accessories– it’s about being involved with initiatives like this one.”

RHOA: She by Sheree Headed To The White House??

Michelle Obama’s wardrobe has helped raise the profiles of J. Crew and designer Jason Wu, but will she do the same for She by Sheree?

Bravo exec Andy Cohen — who also hosts the network’s Watch What Happens talk show — has been trying to get the first lady’s team to dress her in pieces from Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Sheree Whitfield. Cohen told People.com, “I had Michelle Obama’s hairdresser Johnny Wright on last week and I said, ‘What is it going to take to get the first lady into a She by Sheree frock?’ And he said that he’s anxiously awaiting what the line presents to see. He said if Sheree creates something great, maybe it will happen.”

In addition to hosting “Watch What Happens Live”, Andy Cohen is also the Senior Vice President of Original Programming and Development over at Bravo and is nooooo dummy. He knows that getting Michelle Obama to wear She by Sheree sets them up for an even bigger publicity blitz on the next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Annnnnd, Bravo gets a nice cut of any profits made off of merchandising and products launched from the show, ie. the She by Sheree line.

Kanye West’s Clothing Line —> *FAILS*

The word on the block is Kanye West’s budding fashion collection, Pastelle, has been pulled before it even hit stores. Eonline is reporting that a couple of days after photos of the gear hit the Net, the financial backers pulled out of the deal.

‘Ye also has a signature shoe line with Nike and Louis Vuitton.

Wow…. Pastelle looked like it was going to be a dope line… dayyyuuuummmm… maybe next time.

Events: Fashion Week, Toronto Film Festival

There were soooo many events going on this weekend that my head is spinning. New York is jumping like crazy with all the Fashion Week Events and MTV VMA parties. Meanwhile Toronto is a madhouse because of the International Film Festival. I figured I do Fashion Week and VMA’s every year so this time I jetted up to Toronto to get in on all the action and I’m glad I did!! Guess who got to interview Oprah??? ME…Now I can lay down and die…..

Oprah is up here primarily in support of the film “Precious” which is the film adaptation of the book Push by Sapphire . She and Tyler Perry executive produced the film. I’ll have more to tell you about that tomorrow when I attend the Gala and screening. But why is Gayle giving Oprah the side eye? lololol….

Meanwhile back in New York, Rihanna is putting on a fashion show minus the runway at the House of Hype Directors Dinner…..

I love these shades soooo much that my stomach hurts. I need them in my life asap….
