On Saturday, July 7, 2012 the lovely Toya Wright gave fans an exclusive sneak peak at the some of her many new business ventures. Toya invited her biggest fans, celebrity friends, and family members to Garb, her boutique in New Orleans during the Essence Music Festival weekend.

During this event, Toya unveiled her Glam Loft, the ultimate experience for primping, polishing and pampering in New Orleans. The Glam Loft is located on Magazine Street directly upstairs from her popular clothing boutique, Garb. The loft has a warm relaxing feel, uniquely designed vintage pieces, and is the perfect pampering place for any occasion.

The afternoon of luxury included product sampling, shopping, complimentary full body massages, eye brow threading, catering by Atlanta’s Chef Ashley, makeovers by Javetta, entertainment by local violinists and much more.

Toya previewed products from her new Garb Glam Loft Line such as: body lotion, body oil, candles and hand scrub. Everyone enjoyed, purchased, and supported Toya’s new products, and admired Toya’s new side, the multifaceted businesswoman. After constantly being complimented on her hair, Mrs. Wright decided to do a hair line of her own. On-site, fans, celebrity friends, and family were able to sample and purchase pieces of their own from the Visual Beauty Collection.

After announcing the event on local radio stations, more than 2000 fans gathered around Garb boutique to get a glimpse of the favorite celebs and support their products. Later that day, Tamar Braxton joined Toya at Garb to promote her new t-shirt line. Baby, Shaunie O’Neal, First Lady Pastor Morton, Producer James Dubose, Cita (mother of Lil’ Wayne) and many more joined Toya for a day of fun.

Toya is definitely doing it all. From being a New York Times Best Selling Author, to balancing multiple businesses and continuously expanding at the same time, I think it’s safe to see we will soon be seeing ‘Everything Toya.’ In the coming months don’t expect Toya to slow down! You can expect a new Wal-Mart clothing line called, Live Life Denim, this fall.

Coming this September, “Dreamgirls” alum Jennifer Hudson is launching the Jennifer Hudson Collection for QVC. Being a Weight Watchers spokesperson, and having lost 80 pounds, she created a line that the ‘average’ woman can wear.

I feel like I represent every woman. I’ve been on both sides of the fence. I’ve been a big girl and now whatever this is, the average size, whatever you want to call it. But I wanted the clothes to be where any girl could wear it — no matter what size you are — and you could feel comfortable in it.”

Hudson owns over 300 pairs of leggings, so you be be sure her line will have a lot of those!

I’m the legging queen. What I love about a legging is, again, it’s a piece you can dress up or down and it’s still comfortable.”

QVC EVP Doug Howe explained why they are working with the Hudson saying,

She has this great Cinderella story, an aspiration for different women. We don’t overtly go out to target someone who is Hispanic or African-American. We never look at it that way. It all starts with the person’s story and product. That dictates who buys it.”

Solange Knowles is featured in the July 2012 issue of Glamour France. The 25-year-old has always been known for her fashion looks.

On her style:

[My style] is very eclectic because I like taking risks, but always with a glamorous touch and some classic details. I am not obviously inspired by fashion and magazines. I’m surfing blogs a lot because I think it’s cool to see the looks of real people.

My trips influence me as well. I always take a lot of pictures and then I inject all those impressions into my wardrobe or my make-up. And don’t forget the icons: Diana Ross, Erykah Badu, Björk and Lauryn Hill.”

On shopping with Beyonce:

I do 90% of my shopping online and I have contaminated the whole family! From time to time, my sister and I go to Opening Ceremony in New York where we spend hours.”

On how to combine two bold patterns for one winning look:

Colors like violet or pink work very well with animal prints. And you need to keep a harmonic flow, so I try to not mix African and Aztec prints for example.”

On her must-haves for the eyes and lips:

I put on a lot of mascara but above all I use a really flashy lipstick. My favorite color is Rimmel’s Lasting Finish lipstick in Firecracker.”

On if she shops in Paris:

What I prefer is to spend the afternoon at Place des Vosges with a picnic and a book. I also love getting lost in Paris. Last summer I rented an apartment in the 10th arrondissement and I explored all the cool coffee shops and neighborhood bookstores. I feel very safe in Paris: the subway is super easy to use and my son speaks French, so, we always find our way.”

On fashion being a family affair for the Knowles:

We love fashion, but we have very different styles. I must say that we grew up with a seamstress grandmother and my mother started her own collection.”

On new projects she has in store:

I just finished my new album. I spent two years writing it… It’s a new chapter in my life. I’m super excited.”

Last night, Lisa Bonet and her daughter, Zoe Kravitz, attended Chanel’s ‘The Little Black Jacket Event’ at Swiss Institute in New York City.

Wow…Zoe is a spitting image of her mom!!!!

Last night at Alice Tully Hall in New York City, the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards were held. The event was to “celebrate design excellence in womenswear, menswear and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision and lifetime achievement.”

Solange Knowles, Selita Ebanks, and Zoe Saldana were all in attendance.

Pharrell Williams and NY Giants Victor Cruz also donned their best for the event, with Pharrell opting for a shorts tux.
