I am not really sure what statement Lisa Raye is trying to make with this picture of her in the afro wig and honey. Maybe now that she is officially split from her husband Michael Missick, she is saying she wants to get back to her roots…. but if you think this is wild, check the interview she did with Essence. com where she is giving it to us raw in more ways than one:
ESSENCE.COM: Bloggers have often said that you’re too “ghetto” to be a First Lady. How does that make you feel?
LISARAYE: I am not and never grew up in the ghetto. People need to get it right. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. What people don’t realize is that my father was a multimillionaire who owned 12 hotels, motels, a steel mill, a radio station, a club, nursing home, and a law office. So I think it’s safe to say I’m a little above middle class and I’m a daddy’s girl. I make no apologies for loving the finer things in life or the men I choose to date. I don’t feel bad about the person I am. Now, I do have an edge, rawness and realness, and I can tell you I’m going to keep that. I’m one of those women who’s not to be messed with. I’m very opinionated and boisterous at times. I’m also kind and humble. I know when to fold and when to hold and that’s important. If my edge scares you, then you have a choice to remove yourself. Other than that, I’m very approachable, and when people meet me they always say, “You are so down to earth and nothing like I thought you were.”
Hmmmm..okay I don’t know what to make of this but Bow Wow kicked it with QDeezy of The Boy Morning Show and claims video vixen Dolicia Bryant still owes him sex……..watch for yourself:
This mess is getting old.
Charlie Baltimore and I go way back to our days of Philadelphia. Back then she went by the name Tiffany Lane. She was always a pretty girl and allllways the topic of discussion. Check out her recent interview with AHH where she addresses Voletta Wallace and Lil Kim…hehehe:
On Being Big’s Only girl:
Charli Baltimore: Well anybody that knows Big, or D-Roc or Cease or any person that lived in Big’s house…even Ms. Wallace whether she wants to believe it or not, knows that I was Big’s girl. I don’t need to say it every five minutes, I don’t need to throw Big a dinner every year on his birthday and sit his picture there and pray all praises be to Big. I know what I had with Big, and I don’t need to explain it to everyone.
She also goes at Kim and Ms Wallace:
On Kim:
Wanted Christina Milian to portray her as Lil’ Kim? I wasn’t aware they were the same complexion [laughs]. Again I didn’t see the movie but last I checked, well I don’t know what color she is right now, but she was brown-skinned. Maybe she’s light-skinned now. I don’t know. People change skin tones in this day and age. I can’t see Christina Milian portraying Lil Kim. That’s not…that seems really weird to me, but you know, to each his own.
On Ms Wallace:
Maybe it made [Voletta Wallace] feel better [to leave Charli Baltimore out of the film], I don’t know. Maybe it made for juicier story lines to just use Kim and Faith
Bill O’ Reilly pissed some people off again last week with his unnecessary commentary and sarcastic mispronunciation of Jeezy’s name. Young Jeezy had this to say:
Jeezy told XXLMag.com. “At the end of the day, you’re dealing with cats who think that we as young black men don’t know what it is we do. We entrepreneurs, we came from nothing. If you gotta mispronounce my name to try to be funny and you got a Harvard or whatever education you got, then you’re really showing how ignorant you are.”
“If you didn’t hear what the fuck I said, it’s all good, but you didn’t hear all these people crying in New Orleans,” he continued. “You ain’t know bout the [Oscar] Grant kid that got killed in Oakland, you ain’t speaking on that. You ain’t talking about these ladies out here killing these babies, you worried about what I said.”
Dat a boy Jeezy!!
Naturi Naughton had an unceremonious departure from her platinum-selling pop trio 3LW back in 2002. After months of fighting with her group members, Kiely Williams andAdrienne Bailon, things apparently came to a head after Naughton accused Williams of throwing a hot plate of KFC food at her. 3LW initially replaced Naughton with a singer named Jessica Benson, but after several failed singles, Williams and Bailon starred in Disney’s ‘The Cheetah Girls’ and began touring and performing with the film’s co-stars. Naughton on the other hand landed a role on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning musical ‘Hairspray.’ and now “Notorious”. What a comeback!!! Check out the interview:
You really show a lot of flesh in this film. Was it hard shooting those intense nude scenes?
It was hard and not just because of the physical, but just putting so much into this role that was so different than my actual personality. Lil’ Kim and the things that she’s done is not really who I am, but it was such a great challenge because I wanted to show people that I’m an actress and if I’m gonna be Lil’ Kim, I’m gonna be Lil’ Kim. The relationship that she had with B.I.G. was that raw. It wasn’t sugar coated or watered down and I didn’t want to do a TV fake version. I really wanted to give people the truth.
But you had to deliver this performance without the benefit Lil’ Kim’s input?
I didn’t get a chance to spend any time with her, but my research just basically entailed me reading a lot about her back story, what she went through as a young person and her growing up in Brooklyn. I went to Brooklyn and spent a lot of time there. I hung out and talked to the guys of Junior M.A.F.I.A. a little bit and they all coached me and told me ‘that’s exactly how Kim was.’ We would spend a lot of time and they would teach me things that would be more like Kim or BIG and Kim’s relationship. I listened to her first album; I watched her in videos and worked with Tanisha Scott on the movements for the performance scene. I have to give credit to everybody because I had so much material to work with to be able to pull it off.
