Former NFL player Plaxico Burress won’t be crossing the 50-yard line any time soon. Unfortunately, Burress’ plea to join a work release program was denied. Plaxico requested a “temporary release” so that he can return to the football field, but authorities in Albany, NY said “sorry Charlie.”…

The serious and negative impact illegal guns have on the community coupled with dangerous nature of the weapon discharging in a public place renders him unsuitable for work release participation.

In case you don’t remember, Plaxico is the former New York Giants player who is serving a two-year sentence after shooting himself in the leg at a NYC night club. I’m not sure how he managed to do such a thing, but hey I guess it’s been added to the list as one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Actor Wesley Snipes has a bone to pick with the IRS….

Earlier this year Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion for failing to pay his income taxes which totaled more than $15 million. Yesterday the actor filed documents citing “jury misconduct” during his trial back in April. Snipes claims his defense team was contacted by two jurors via email stating that other jurors “told us [Snipes] was guilty before they even heard the first piece of evidence.” Dannnngggg!

If that’s not enough, Snipes found out the government withheld info that his former accountant, Kenneth Starr, a key witness against him, was under the microscope for engaging in “criminal activities of conspiring to evade income taxes” with another client. Well I’ll be damn!

Snipes’ camp has an extremely valid argument. It sounds like Kenneth Star cut a deal with the government in exchange for testimony against Wes. Threes years is a long time to serve behind bars, so I don’t blame the brother for running this case into the ground.

Lindsay Lohan was released from a UCLA rehab facility last night by a sympathetic judge who followed her doctors recommendations.

In true Lohan fashion, she dipped out of the back door of the facility to avoid the paparazzi waiting outside.

The troubled actress was admitted to UCLA on August 2nd for a psychological evaluation after a short stay in prison for violating her probation. Lohan’s doctors at UCLA discovered that the actress was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder by doctors at another rehab facility .

The UCLA doctors determined that Lohan was neither bipolar nor addicted to drugs (side eye). They successfully weaned Lohan off a cocktail of prescription medications, including sleeping pills and psychotropic drugs. All in all, the “Mean Girls” star spent a total of 35 days in custody, and now she’s back on the streets.

She may seem victorious now, having gotten out of jail so quickly, but I truly think this will bite her in the ass in the near future. She’ll never get the help she needs while all of these enablers are making excuses for her. (smacking my teeth) This is bull.

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren’s divorce has been finalized. The specifics from the settlement, however, have not been released to the public. Rumors say that Elin can expect to receive between $100 – $500 million dollars in cash and assets. Now take that to the bank! Pow!

The former power couple issued the following statement:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,” they said in a statement released by attorneys. “While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.”

Former Fugees band member, Wyclef Jean, has been refused candidacy to become Haiti’s next president. Clef’s residential record wasn’t in compliance with legal requirements to run in the upcoming election. Under Haiti’s law, presidential candidates must live in Haiti for five years prior to the the election. As you know, Wyclef was born in Haiti, but left at the age of 9 and grew up in the projects of Brooklyn, NY. Wyclef thought he would catch a break after working as a roving ambassador for the current president Rene Preval, but clearly he was wrong. Poor Wyclef, he stepped down as chairman and founder of Yele Haiti Foundation to run for President, only to be shut down again. SMH!

Presidential hopeful Wyclef Jean has received several death threats since the announcement of his run for office. Wyclef believes the death threats “come with the territory” and homeboy is not going to let such foolishness stop his pursuit of becoming Haiti’s next President.

In a recent interview with BBC, Wyclef says:

In the past couple of days we have received a few death threats. Just for our safety we came to an area where we feel is secured – that is my town. We’re in an area where we’re comfortable, the area where we were at before, we weren’t comfortable. We know this situation we’ve embarked on, death threats come with the territory. But beyond that it’s not about all those negative information.

Despite death threats, it’s rumored that Wyclef may not be qualified to run because of his residency status. The Haitian constitution requires that presidential candidates must reside in the country for five consecutive years before an election. However, Wyclef is convinced that his work as an “ambassador” for current president, Rene Preval, qualifies him to run.

 The issue of residency, we have proof, five years,” he told the BBC. “Every piece of paper that the commission, the electoral council have asked for, we have delivered. So by law, we have everything. If after Friday we’re not approved I will continue doing what I’ve been doing in Haiti. We’ll be respected as a political force. The important thing is I hope we can be part of the big plan.
