“I don’t know where I fit in the spectrum of rap yet, I think now I’m kind of proving myself, but before, people thought of I was more of a sex symbol or wannabe sex symbol. Now they’re seeing. That’s why I make the goofiest faces, I don’t want people to think I’m up here trying to be cute. I’m trying to entertain, and entertaining is more than exuding sex appeal. I don’t think that’s fun. I don’t find it fun watching someone trying to be sexy. It’s wack. I’m trying to just show my true personality, and I think that means more than anything else.”

Robin Thicke Continues Family Tradition

Wait a sec…..this isn’t the happy couple!!

Why does Rihanna have her paws all over Robin????? Oh….hold on, here’s the happy couple…..

Whew!! All is fair in the land of Oz again. Btw, that’s Robin’s dad Alan Thicke in the pic. Remember him?

Robin Thicke says when it comes to family, all is forgiven at Christmas. He tells Essence…

“You know how your family gets on your nerves all year long? Christmas is that one time where, to me, family was the most magical. My grandpa would show up, my aunts and uncles are there, there’s presents under the tree, the food tastes great. So that was always my greatest memory of family.”

And now with a little one on the way in May, Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, are looking forward to “re-starting” the tradition in their family. Yesterday Thicke told Essence.com they’re expecting a boy they’ve named Julian. 

Speaking of Essence….

Queen Latifah, Zoe Saldana, Gabourey Sidibie and Mary J. Blige will be honored at the third annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, to be held during Oscar Week on March 4th at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The women are being lauded for making a significant impact in Hollywood.The event also commemorates Essence magazine’s annual Hollywood issue and the publication’s 40th anniversary.

Is Drake Fessing Up??

Drake — who’s on some covers of the re-launched Vibe magazine (with Chris Brown on the rest) — says he and Rihanna “never” dated. But he doesn’t deny a hookup.He says, “I’m not saying I’ve never been around her and that we’ve never hung out…” Asked if the two have kissed or been physical, Drake answers, “Maybe so… It’s all a blur, my memory is conveniently foggy.” And would he like to be a couple with the “Russian Roulette” singer? “I can see it.”

Is Drake telling the truth here or is he just trying to stir up some mess in order to sell magazines???

Whitney Gets INstyle

In the January issue of InStyle magazine, Whitney Houston went into details about the relationship that she has with her daughter, Bobbi Kristina:

It’s funny because her body is mine, her skin color is mine, but she says exactly what’s on her mind, so she’s like her father in that manner. These kids, man, they come out and just let you know right off. But I think it’s a very important thing to allow our children to express themselves so it won’t be expressed in other areas, like on the street.
If she’s angry, I allow her to say, ‘Damn! I’m so frustrated today!’ We have our moments when we clash, but we have a good relationship. I want her to count on me to try to understand what she’s going through. No damnation, no condemnation, nothing that’s going to make her feel like she can’t come to me.

Whitney is also planning a tour but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be anytime soon:

That’s going to be an at-my-pace kind of thing because I like to do things the real way. I have a live band onstage. My background singers are for real. My vocals are for real. I limit the computerization. So my goal is to have people come to a show and say, ‘Wow.’ And it’s not like I’m going to be everywhere. It’s going to be like, ‘Here I am. Come on out and see me if you can.
Whitney Houston on tour should definitely be a sight to see. Most people will probably go to check her out just to see if she can hold it together for a whole concert because she can barely make just performing one song on shows like Dancing with the Stars.

It’s a Girl for Christina Milian and hubby The-Dream!!

Christina Milian has revealed to OK! Magazine that she and hubby producer/artist The-Dream are expecting a baby girl in February.

The 28-year-old singer tells OK!:

“I am nervous about giving birth to the baby. That’s probably the most nerve-wracking part of it all,” she adds. “Every day I wonder, ‘What happens if she comes earlier than expected?’ “

Milian and The-Dream wed in September in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas.  A private baby shower was held for the couple this past Saturday in Hollywood Hills. Guests at the shindig were treated to manicures, pedicures and make-overs courtesy of Valerie Beverly Hills.

Chris Brown: Domestic Violence Goes Both Ways

Following Chris Brown’s assault on Rihanna, insiders claimed he wasn’t the only one doing the hitting in the relationship. And now Brown appears to support those allegations, telling Vibe magazine, “It’s never okay for a man to hit a woman, but it’s also never okay for a woman to hit a man. I think domestic violence is not just men on women.”

This echoes what some folks are saying about the Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren fiasco. She cracked his tooth, and beat him with a golf club. This brings a few questions to the forefront. Was her violence justified?? Would Tiger be in the same boat as Chris if he’d defended himself versus running? Ladies, have you ever hit a man? What made you that mad? Is there a double standard when it comes to men, women and domestic violence?

As mistresses keep surfacing, nine and counting, so have photos that are allegedly (and maybe NOT him) of Tiger Woods naked. From a Life & Style press release:

It looks like the rumors of naked Tiger Woods photos may be true! Playgirl’s rep Daniel Nardicio confirms to Life & Style that the online magazine has received photos claiming to be Tiger sans clothes. But until the photo is proven to be real, don’t expect to see it online. “We’re currently trying to authenticate the photos before we make any decisions on purchasing the Tiger Woods pics and ascertaining the value,” Nardicio tells Life & Style.
Perez HIlton hears it may be cell phoned pics of Tiger’s genitalia.

The grimiest part of this whole scandal is that Tiger allegedly went raw dog- sans condom with a few of these skanks. YUCK!!!!   I suppose that was the news that made Elin pack up her ish and move out of the couple’s mansion.

“He didn’t use a condom,” says Grubbs, who adds that Woods also didn’t ask if she was on birth control, either. “It wasn’t even discussed. He just never used one.”

Another One Bites The Dust…..

This just in!!! Giant magazine is folding.

Giant Magazine, Radio One’s bi-monthly publication of urban music and pop culture is no more. The broadcast company officially announced that it would be closing its doors today on its magazine after its debut in 2007 and publishing a total of 33 issues. The Giant brand will still be operable but under Radio One’s ‘Interactive One’ subsidiary online. Radio One is also responsible for NewsOne.com, Tv One, Hellobeautiful.com and Blackplanet.com.

Alicia Keys will be featured on the magazine’s final cover of the print edition, which lands on newsstands December 15th.

Speaking of biting the dust……

Lady GaGa did a “J-lo” while performing at her recent concert in Montreal. You’ll see her bust her tail at around the :20 second mark. But much like Jennifer Lopez & Beyonce, she got right back up and kept performing like a pro! Funny enough, she wound up falling THREE TIMES that night.

She later joked: “I’m like a drunk supermodel and I LOVE it!”

A preview of Beyonce’s upcoming I Am Yours D-V-D release was floating around the Internet. The D-V-D captures never-before-seen footage during a Las Vegas concert. Bey says, “This is not gonna be the typical Beyonce experience. This is me up close and personal.” Beyonce: I Am Yours arrives November 23rd.

Trey Songz has sex on the brain. His two current singles — “I Invented Sex” and “Say Ah” — are both accompanied by sexy videos. He tells Black Men magazine, “The idea [for "I Invented Sex"]…came from a banned Calvin Klein ad. It was a dude and two girls and they was touching and kissing… We didn’t go all the way there. I didn’t have two girls, we simulated best we could, and it’s more sensual than raunchy.”

He says of the “Say Ah” clip, “The song speaks on more so a club atmosphere, but the video is more lofty — sexy women all over the place, adults having fun. This one lady in particular, she’s representing the independent women without taking it over the top.”

50 Cent: “Kelly Was Robbed”

50 Cent and Kelly Rowland have gotten awfully close since she starred in his “Baby by Me” video. Curtis Jackson defended her recently to Billboard Magazine by saying “she doesn’t get the credit she deserves”.

“You can’t forget all the work she did with Destiny’s Child. The difference between Kelly and Beyonce is the extreme focus they put on Beyonce to make sure she was completely right… In order for her to mean anything to America, they’d have to match the marketing dollars spent on Beyonce. She never received the superstar treatment.”

50 says he wanted Rowland in the clip “because she’s beautiful. I ran into Kelly at the Latin V-M-A’s…and I asked her if she would consider doing it.”

I wonder how Ciara is feeling about this?! Btw, 50’s new disc, Before I Self Destruct, arrives November 16th….My birthday!

Janet Jackson: Three’s A Charm

ABC has been on a roll lately!! Beyonce has a Thanksgiving special airing on the 26th of November, Jennifer Hudson’s Christmas special airs on ABC in December… and just confirmed, Janet Jackson will sit with A-B-C anchor Robin Roberts for an exclusive prime-time interview airing November 18th. Much props to the powers that be over at ABC for showing the sistahs so much love!!

An official announcement is expected this week. Jackson’s Number Ones compilation is due November 17th.

Although she’s without a label, Janet is working on a follow up to 2008’s Discipline. Producer Rodney Jerkins told SingersRoom.com, “You know old-school Janet is what we as fans knew her as, so we’re really trying to target that sound while still trying to mix it in with something new, [to] be able to touch it [with] different world types of sound like Brazilian music, Latin music… There’s one [record] that’s African-inspired.”

In other Janet news, she and Jermaine Dupri are said to have reconciled their relationship (for the umpteenth time). Sources say this time is different for the couple. They never fell out of love even after calling it quits last summer. Now that they are back together, they’re making plans to get married early next year.

Oh and btw, Jennifer Hudson says she’d like to have another baby to join her two-month-old son David. She told Access Hollywood:

“I’d like to have at least one more, a little girl. I want a girl and then maybe another one. You know, one baby at a time.”

Okay Jennifer, but when are you and Punk tying the knot?? Can we get that popping first?
