Orlando Jones Takes Over Madea Role For Tyler Perry

orlandomadea

Madea fans may not be too happy with this news…

Tyler Perry is being replaced by former Mad TV star Orlando Jones in “Tyler Perry’s Madea Christmas” due to Perry being extremely busy handling his new projects on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network.

Perry told fans,

It is with mixed emotion that I announce that I will be unable to portray Madea in the next chapter in her journey. The character has been such a gift and it was my hope and intention to play this role again in the upcoming film. But, due to my commitments to the exciting new venture I am launching with OWN and Discovery Communications, I must now put all my energy into our new slate of shows that will launch on the network later this year.”

Jon Feltheimer, CEO of Lionsgate said,

While we are saddened to hear that Mr. Perry won’t be appearing in the next film, we are still eager to have A MADEA CHRISTMAS in theaters this holiday season and look forward to Orlando Jones giving a great performance.”

What do you think- is Orlando a good choice???

The film version of the play, which will be called “Macbett” will be filmed in Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

Keke Plamer Set to Play Chili In TLC Biopic

kekepalmer

Keke Palmer is set to star in VH1′s TLC biopic as Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas. She joins rapper Lil Mama, as Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Drew Sidora, from “The Game” as T-Boz.

Palmer said in an interview that she has always been a huge fan of the 90′s girl group.

I would sing “No Scrubs” over and over again to the point my parents would have to tell me to stop, but I never did. I had my little hairbrush as my mic and nobody could tell me I wasn’t the fourth member of TLC. I am a true fan. I love these ladies and I always want to be proud of my work in any role that I do.”

Fans have been a bit apprehensive if Keke is right for the role, and she went on Twitter to defend herself.

I don’t remember Angela Bassett looking ANYTHING like Tina Turner. And she RIPPED that role…People need to realize that movies aren’t casted by people looking like who they’re playing. They’re casted by who can do the role.”

Filming is set to start in Atlanta next month.

What do you think of Keke playing Chili???
