Former NFL player Plaxico Burress won’t be crossing the 50-yard line any time soon. Unfortunately, Burress’ plea to join a work release program was denied. Plaxico requested a “temporary release” so that he can return to the football field, but authorities in Albany, NY said “sorry Charlie.”…

The serious and negative impact illegal guns have on the community coupled with dangerous nature of the weapon discharging in a public place renders him unsuitable for work release participation.

In case you don’t remember, Plaxico is the former New York Giants player who is serving a two-year sentence after shooting himself in the leg at a NYC night club. I’m not sure how he managed to do such a thing, but hey I guess it’s been added to the list as one of life’s greatest mysteries.

Looks like everyone is catching the wedding bug! Miami Heat’s Chris Bosh got engaged this weekend to his lady, Adrienne Williams, at their new home in Miami. The couple have been dating just over a year and celebrated their engagement at Liv Nightclub.

Congrats to the happy lovebirds!

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren’s divorce has been finalized. The specifics from the settlement, however, have not been released to the public. Rumors say that Elin can expect to receive between $100 – $500 million dollars in cash and assets. Now take that to the bank! Pow!

The former power couple issued the following statement:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,” they said in a statement released by attorneys. “While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us.”

Damnnn Tiger…now that it’s all said and done, was it worth it? Were all of your blonde ambitions worth what you’re faced with now– DIVORCE??

Deshawn Smith, estranged wife of former NBA player Eric Snow, just found out her soon-to-be ex fathered a child with a mutual college friend. DAYUM!

The baby girl is named Ava Marie Snow, born on July 14th to Marisela Alvarado in Michigan. I just don’t get it…..does monogamy in relationships exist anymore??? Why even get married?

No worries, I’m sure Deshawn will have the last laugh once their divorce is final. It has not been confirmed yet, but a little birdie told me homgirl can expect anywhere from $8-20 million in the bank once the divorce is signed, sealed and delivered.  Cha-ching!!!!

Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright has been missing since July 18. 

The Atlanta police reported that Wright was last seen on Sunday when he was expected to fly out of the city. He stopped by to check on his children, who live with his ex-wife in Smyrna Ga and left around to 2 a.m. while she was sleeping. 

According to Lt. Norm Dixon:

There is nothing on his phone records, no bank transactions, his vehicles are still at his house in Smyrna. It’s like he literally dropped off the face of the earth.

Authorities don’t suspect any foul play, but the family is left to believe otherwise. 

Dixon continues:

All of his friends said he’s never done anything like this.

Wright played for the NBA for 13-years after starting his career at The University of Memphis. He last played in the league for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2008-09 season.

Looks like everybody has something to say about Lebron’s decision to join Miami Heat! Legendary ballers  Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley put their two cents in.

MJ says:

There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team

Barkley says:

(Lebron) will never be Jordan. This clearly takes him out of the conversation. He can win as much as he wants to. There would have been something honorable about staying in Cleveland and trying to win it as ‘The Man.’ LeBron, if he would’ve won in Cleveland, and if he could’ve got a championship there, it would have been over the top for his legacy, just one in Cleveland. No matter how many he wins in Miami, it clearly is Dwyane Wade’s team. Mike and I are in 100% agreement on this.” If you’re the two-time defending NBA MVP, you don’t leave anywhere. They come to you. That’s ridiculous. I like LeBron. He’s a great player. But I don’t think in the history of sports you can find a two-time defending MVP leaving to go play with other people.

Whew…that sounds a bit harsh.
