Allen Iverson’s Wife Calls It Quits!

Last week I told you Allen Iverson decided to leave the Philadelphia 76ers indefinitely due to the illness of his 4 year-old daughter. Well if that’s not enough, Iverson’s wife Tawanna,  just announced that she’s packing her bags and wants a divorce…DAMN!

Tawanna filed a petition on Tuesday stating that her 8 1/2-year marriage was “irretrievably broken”. Plus Tawanna wants “temporary and permanent custody of their five children as well as child support and alimony.”

When it rains…it POURS! Hmm…but are we really shocked? “Irretrievably broken” usually means someone cheated. It’s no secret that Iverson’s been dipping his biscotti in everyone’s coffee cup. I’m just wondering why she decided to finally leave him NOW?!

Tiger Woods Press Conference

Did you notice Elin wasn’t there for moral support? Now that this press conference is over, can we move ONNN already?!?

Javaris Crittenton Pleads Guilty

Washington Wizards guard, Javaris Crittenton, pleads guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge after the highly publicized encounter with teammate Gilbert Arenas.

According to the Associated Press, after pleading guilty to possession of an unregistered firearm, Crittenton was ordered by Senior Judge Bruce Beaudin to participate in various outreach programs  for the youth.

The 22 year-old was sentenced to one year probation without supervision.

As for Arenas, sources informed ESPN.com that he has been suspended indefinitely.

All of this over a bet??? This is straight up ludacrosity if you ask me!…….I don’t care if that’s not a WORD!

Another NFL Player Turns to RAP>>>> WHY????

In the true nature of entertainment, another NFL football player has turned to rap music during his off season. Bengals’ player Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson is the next player to release a hip-hop album. The player revealed his debut song “Dat Ain’t My Baby” at LeBron James‘ party in Miami this past weekend.

Another Death in Sports

Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams died this weekend in South Carolina. He was 26. Adams was rushed to the emergency room at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood, S.C. where he was pronounced dead at 9:00 AM, according to ESPN.

Greenwood County Coroner James T. Coursey said the preliminary autopsy performed Sunday indicated Adams died of cardiac arrest caused by an enlarged heart. The Chicago Bears released a statement that says: “We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines’ passing. Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”

….So sad.

Sports Scandal Round Up

It appears Shaq’s accuser has a history of problems with NBA players!!  

Vanessa Lopez, the woman accusing Shaquille O’Neal of carrying out a campaign of harassment against her has also been in the forefront of scandal with Denver nuggets forward Kenyon Martin and Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West- all while she was secretly getting it in with Shaq!!

Back in 2006, Delonte West called security on Lopez, claiming she refused to leave his Orlando hotel room. Lopez then accused West of making unwanted sexual advances toward her. West acknowledged that he had slept with Lopez in the past — but claimed he never hit on her that night. West said Lopez tried to seduce him — but he rejected her because he had another woman coming over. . 

In 2007, Lopez had incident with Trina’s ex boo, Kenyon Martin. The NBA star’s business manager called police, claiming Lopez somehow got hold of Martin’s credit card and blew hundreds of dollars without Kenyon’s permission. 

Jayson Williams is set to be arraigned this morning from his hospital bed.

Williams is still in Bellevue Hospital’s criminal ward recovering from serious injuries he suffered in a car accident Tuesday morning — he was charged with DWI in the wreck. I hear a camera will be setup in Williams’ hospital room so the arraignment can be videocast to Manhattan Supreme Court. Damn!! Couldn’t they just wait until he recovered?? He’s barely conscious.

Terrell Owens is being accused of dropping the ball on a pre-season bet he lost to a fan…

The fan claims the Buffalo Bills receiver owes him a $200,000 Bentley because before the season started, Owens made a “deal” (through his Twitter page) to catch 10 TDs this year … or he would fork over the keys to his prized ride.  Oh Pulllleaze!!

The NBA has suspended Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas indefinitely!
In a statement, NBA commissioner David Stern said:

“Although it is clear that the actions of Mr. Arenas will ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game … Accordingly, I am suspending Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, effective immediately pending the completion of the investigation by the NBA.”

Arenas is under investigation for bringing guns to the Verizon Center (where the Wizards play) and allegedly getting into a standoff with teammate Javaris Crittenton.

There will be no criminal charges for the late Chris Henry’s fiance Loleini Tonga. The just released statement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police says she was not driving reckless:

“…there was no evidence of reckless driving or excessive speed.” Investigators determined she was driving no faster than 23 mph.”

The coroner’s office ruled the accidental death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head, the statement said.

AT&T Disconnects Tiger Woods

Another one bites the dust!! AT&T is the latest company to end their relationship with Tiger Woods.

The news comes in the wake of a study, which shows Tiger’s sponsors took a serious financial hit after news of his infidelity became public. Tiger had already lost a deal with Accenture, Nike & Gatorade. Tag Hauer Watch Company continues to stand by him.

NFL: Domestic Dispute leaves NFL Player Near Death

Bengals WR Chris Henry has died after a domestic dispute with his fiance.  Reports are sketchy right now but I can tell you what I have heard.  Apparently Henry and his fiance got into a fight yesterday.  She tried to leave and was driving off in a pickup truck.  Henry who was out for the season already with an injury jumped in the back of the truck while it was moving.  Somehow with the fiance still driving Henry was thrown from the truck.  Many reports claimed he died yesterday but those are not true.  It is not known at this point who struck who but Henry has had many run ins with the law previously and had been suspended from the NFL 3 times for drug, alcohol, and violent infractions.

This is a terrible story.  Henry has been no angel but it is very sad that he lost his life.  This should be a lesson to everyone that its not worth it to let these domestic squabbles escalate.  Tiger Woods may be a cheater but his wife could have killed him when she hit his truck with the golf club, and now we have a man who has literally died.  Men and women need to learn to walk away and when the person does walk away, LET THEM.  Chasing them will only lead to trouble for you, them or both.

Tiger’s Wife is OUT!!

Everyone is familiar with the Tiger Woods story by now.  Some people defend Tiger, others now hate Tiger.  Well it appears his wife, Elin, has had enough as her lawyers now claim that there is now a 100% chance of divorce.  Her reasons for divorce are obvious (adultery with the latest rumor being Woods had sex with Jessica Simpson) and from what I’m hearing money is not a big factor.  In fact she is losing millions by leaving him now rather then waiting.  According to the iron clad pre-nup she will walk away with a lump sum of 20 million dollars + child support for their 2 children.  In comparison if she was to stay for a few more years she would receive upwards of 50 + million.

I have to say that I gain respect for Elin Woods on this one.  20 million of unearned money is a lot and the child support will far outweigh the cost of raising 2 kids so she will have enough money.  She is young enough to find a new man and move on with her life.  I also think this is better for Tiger.  The trust is gone in the marriage and there is no need to have a wife constantly looking over your shoulder.  Now Tiger can do his thing without society looking down on him.

Question for the sisters though:  Does it bother you that NONE of Tiger’s many mistresses are black?

Serena Williams Sounds Off On The ITF

Serena Williams set the record straight on global grind in regards to her recnt “$82,000 fine” by the ITF for dropping the F-bomb line at a judge. Check it out:

“To clear things up FIRST I was NOT fined 82 thousand dollars. I was fined 92 thousand dollars! I paid 10 thousand dollars on site immediately after the U. S. Open. So for the record, I was fined $92,000 not $82,000! The biggest fine EVER in tennis.

Also for all those that don’t know, I felt incredibly bad, and miserable for losing my cool, and most importantly not representing the person I really am spiritually and the role model I want to be to my young fans. I have been a very feisty player all my life, but when the time came for me to be calm and cool, I did not exercise a mild temper…”

A few years ago in a most important match being watched my millions; I was blatantly cheated and robbed of a US Open title by yet another official. I was again on the wrong side of not one or two, but several other bad calls. This incident however changed tennis. Because of what was incorrectly done to me, the whole sport of tennis adapted new technology for a player to challenge the calls lines persons make if the player feels they were wronged. I was expected to take solace in the fact even though I lost the U.S Open title (a dream I’ve been working for since I was 2 years old). At least others won’t be wronged in the future. I am always happy for the next person. I always am. I received apologies from the USTA, the Lines Official, and the Head of the US Open. However I don’t recall EVER receiving a note, a phone call, a letter even a text from anyone at the Grand Slam Committee ITF apologizing about the wrong and disastrous call one of THEIR officials made.

9-1-1 Call to Tiger Woods House in Early AM

A 9-1-1 call was placed from Tiger Woods‘ Windermere, Fl. home early this morning at approximately 2:36 AM, where a middle-aged blond woman was reportedly removed by ambulance and rushed to the hospital. Reports have not confirmed who the said blond is, but wife Elin’s mother is said to be in town helping her daughter get through the recent marital indiscretions that have been exposed. A second blond woman followed the ambulance from Deacon Circle to Health Central hospital in a black Escalade, similar to the vehicle that was involved in Tiger’s recent accident.

No word on who was rushed to the hospital.

In other news, word is that producer Jermaine Dupri wants to be on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars”. According to reports, Jermaine, who actually started off his career as a dancer, has contacted producers and asked to a part of next season’s cast.

Former track star Marion Jones is hoping to re-enter the sports world, but this time as a basketball player!!

Jones, who was released from federal prison over a year ago following a doping scandal, announced on Monday in San Antonio, Texas that she’s planning to sign with a team in the W-N-B-A.

Jones was initially skeptical when she got a call from league officials, but, she says, “I thought it would be an interesting journey if I decided to do this… It would give me an opportunity to get a second chance. I think I can be an asset to a franchise, so…why not?”

The Wofford family of Encinitas, California got the house of the dreams after appearing on A-B-C’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Now they’re in danger of losing that home., who got the house five years ago, say they’re facing foreclosure. Brian Wofford, a widower and father of eight says, “A lot of people think when you get the house, you get the mortgage. Well, you don’t.” This isn’t the first time an Extreme Makeover family has gotten into financial trouble. At least five other families have lost or been forced to sell the homes they won on the show.

Allen Iverson announced last week that he was retiring from the NBA after 15 seasons. Now sources claim he is heading back to the Philadelphia 76ers. If this is true, that’ll be the quickest comeback from retirement since Jay-Z’s retirement from rap. 

Heads Up!! R. Kelly’s New Album’Untitled” drops today……. He’s teamed up with R&B singers Robin Thicke, The Dream and Tyrese for a new single titled “Pregnant”. Kelly recently told radio personality D-J Skee that the album is “pure excitement and pure truth. It’s grown up, it’s sexy… I’ve updated the whole [R. Kelly] brand.”

R. Kelly, who was acquitted in his highly publicized child-molestation case last year — said, “I’ve been laying low to go high. I’ve been watching over the whole industry, sitting in the stands watching the show so I can go back to the lab and do what I gotta do so I can get back on the stage.”

Mary J. Blige sheds a tear on the cover of her ninth studio album “Stronger with Each Tear”, arriving December 21. This final version is slightly different from the one that previously leaked. 

Zac Posen, the  29 year old fashion designer who dresses Hollywood’s major players, is creating a line for Target next spring. The collection will be available at most stores and online at Target.com from April 25 through May 30, according to WWD.com.

Target won’t cite prices yet, but previous Go series collections have ranged from $14.99 to $149.99. Posen’s own luxurious collection runs from $900 to $12,000 (like the infamous green dress Beyonce once wore). He charges up to $20,000 for custom pieces. Not bad for a 29 yr. old huh?

T-Pain and Smokey Robinson will be among the presenters on tomorrow’s Grammy Nominations Concert Live telecast. Maxwell and The Black Eyed Peas were previously announced as performers on the show, which airs live from L-A’s Club Nokia at 9 p-m [ET/PT] on C-B-S. L-L Cool J will host.

Allen Iverson Plans To Retire

The word is out that Allen Iverson is planning to officially retire from the NBA after 13 seasons. The reason he gives for the unexpected retirement is that “he wants to move on from basketball and spend some time with his wife and family.” Sports buffs say he’s shell shocked that no one wants his services right now so he’s orchestrating a retirement to cover up the lack of interest in him.

Sports Weekend Recap: Boxing, Football & More

Sports fans don’t get many chances for weekends like we just had.  It was great on many levels and if you missed it then here is your chance to catch up.  Saturday in a fight that millions were looking forward to Manny Pacquiao dominated Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas on his way to a 12th round TKO victory.  This sets up a huge possible matchup with Floyd Mayweather Jr. that would pay the fighters OVER $50 million a piece.  Mark Whalberg and Derek Jeter were at the fight.

Sunday in the NFL you had the New Orleans Saints win to go to 9-0 with Reggie Bush scoring 2 touchdowns.  Big props to Kim Kardashian since they have gotten back together and she has backed off the marriage talk Bush has flourished as a change of pace back for the Saints and they are winning big.  Sunday night the Colts also went to 9-0 by coming back from 17 points down to beat the Patriots 35-34 after the Patriots went for it on 4th and 2 from their won 29 yard line.  Randy Moss and Tom Brady had huge games in the loss.

Those were the biggest highlights of the weekend but there were many more.  November is always a great month for sports and the NBA is just getting started.  If people out there are bored I recommend them finding 1 team and follow it closely.  It will provide more drama and more reality then any show on television.
