Chris Brown Cries For Help

Well Chris Brown isn’t literally “crying” but he might as well be! In a recent voicenote posted on SayNow.com, Chris begs asks his fans to help him stay relevant. WOW!

As you know, many radio stations have refrained from playing his music due to his previous “wife-beating” behavior. And in today’s industry, radio play is a necessity.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I ain’t never really did this but right now I need all of my fans help. A lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back. That’s all I need is you guys and nothing else will do that except for the fans. I don’t know what else to say. It’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy.

It’s on ya’ll. My singing and my music I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it wouldn’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have the support. I can’t be an underground mixtape artist. That’s where we are. I just want all my fans to help me. I love ya’ll. Peace”

Nene’s Son Is Behind Bars…AGAIN!

One of my favorite Real Housewives of Atlanta, Nene Leakes just can’t get a break. Just a few days ago, her son Bryson Bryant entered the Gwinnett County Detention Center for two misdemeanor charges: the possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and failure to appear. Like really?

Well…I am not too surprised since Mr. Bryson seems to always have his hands in something dirty. SMH

Bryson appears to have entered the detention center on March 7. See where dropping out of school gets you??

Will loves the kids!…

Will-I-Am is sending four students to college through his I-Am Scholarship fund. Will grew up in a Los Angeles housing project and never went to college. After receiving a hefty sum for DJ-ing a party, a light bulb went off.

He tells People magazine:

“I did the math and I could send three kids to school [with that money]… “It’s one thing to make it and you’ve got your own apartment, or house, or car — and you keep it for you. That’s not making it. Making it is spreading it.”

And then there’s DMX…

DMX aka Earl Simmons was arrested in Arizona yesterday. Sources say that he violated the terms of his probation by using illegal drugs over the past 9 months. His lawyer Gary Jenkins mentioned, “He’s been battling addiction for some time and he’s in need of treatment.”…Ok is this something we didn’t already know??? In hopes to make the situation better, his lawyer is reaching out to a man named Dr. Drew Pinsky. For some reason Jenkins believes this may be the only man who can save him.

We’ve seen DMX go in and out of jail too many times !… Somebody please pray for Earl.

Well look who’s coming back to the big screen…Ja Rule!

Ja Rule and Adriene Bailon will co-star in the independent film “I’m in Love With a Church Girl.” The flick centers on a drug dealer who’s turned his life around but must choose between returning to his old way of life or continuing down a right path when he meets the girl of his dreams.(what a stretch)

Ok maybe not the “Big Screen”…but hey he’s trying…right???

CBS has selected Grammy and Oscar award winner Jennifer Hudson to perform “One Shining Moment” at the conclusion of the NCAA men’s basketball championship game.

Jennifer Hudson says:

“The song inspires you, it moves you. It motivates you and helps you reach that goal and that dream.”

“One Shining Moment” has been performed as the concluding song at the NCAA for the past 23 years and Jennifer will be the FIRST woman to belt the beautiful lyrics.

Akon Goes Bollywood

Singer/Producer Akon expanding his brand (music) into the Indian film market . According to EURWeb, Akon had made a “musical contribution to the soundtrack of “RA.One,” a Bollywood sci-fi action film currently in production.” Which I think is a very smart move considering that the Indian market is estimated at $1.2 billion. Cha-ching!

Akon is not the first to do this, back in 2008, rapper Snoop Dogg was featured on the Bollywood film “Singh is King.” Unlike Snoop, Akon will record his song in local language Hindi.

Akon reports:

“India is my next focus area, want to try different things, want to explore… want to enjoy my work. We have the same kind of entertainment, the only difference is of tradition and language.”

After “failing” at radio, Akon went back to doing what he does best. Good Move!

Telephone – Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce To Premiere

We’re still anxiously awaiting the video for Lady Gaga and Beyonce’s “Telephone”. No video as of yet, but a few pictures from the video have hit the web………

Ludacris goes to BATTLE…

Ludacris returns today with his seventh studio disc, “Battle of the Sexes.” The follow-up to 2008’s “Theater of the Mind” includes the hot single “My Chick Bad” featuring Diamond, Trina and Eve. The album also has guest spots from Nicki Minaj, Shawna, Trey Songz, Ne-Yo and Monica. Chea!

Luda says this album speaks to the age-old differences between men and women. Hmm this should be interesting…

Luda says:

Speaking of battles…Weezy is finally in jail!

Lil’ Wayne was finally sentenced yesterday in a New York courtroom. He arrived to the courthouse to press and screaming fans, and was sentenced to one year.

For a minute I thought the brotha was trying to be slick. I mean first it was his historical dental surgery and then a “spontaneous” fire that broke out in the courthouse.

In case you didn’t know, Lil Wayne plead guilty in October to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and admitted to having a loaded gun on his tour bus in 2007. Why was there a gun??? Ugh anyway…with good behavior, he could be released in eight months.

On a lighter note…a big congrats to Solange!

Solange was named one of three new spokeswomen for Rimmel cosmetics. She joins current spokeswoman, supermodel Kate Moss.

Montel Williams Cries Broke!

Entertainment veteran, Montel Williams, is broke??? That’s his story….

According to RadarOnline, the same Montel Williams who had a TV talk show that ran for 17 seasons, writer of a best-selling memoir annnnnnd TV infomercial pitchman, cried broke this past Friday. In a recent court hearing, Williams claimed he couldn’t pay $7,500 in legal fees for his kids’ attorney in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Montel’s attorney told the judge:

“Mr. Williams’ financial situation is extremely perilous.”

WHAT?!!!! Yes it sounds like a bunch of crap to me.

Montel and his ex-wife, Grace, have been divorced for almost 10 years now and have been dealing with a grueling custody battle with their two children. Sources have told me he is “up to date” with his $18, 700 monthly child support payments, however he rarel seees his teenage kids.

Hmm…selling all those “green machines”…it seems like it would have brought some green in his pockets! I’m just saying’!

Oscar Fashion: Yes or Mess?

Queen Latifah glowed on the Oscar carpet in her Antique Rose shoulder strap gown….

But I cannot say the same for Zoe Saldana. This gown was doing way too many things at once for my taste. The can can girl detail was a major fail but the shoes and lack of a pedicure only made matters worse……

Mairah & Nick Cannon looked fierce as always, that was UNTIL…….

…..I peeped Mariah’s split that rode all the way up to her neck. The bodice of this gown is so elegant. Why would anyone dare to destroy such a classy neckline with a Playaz club split??

According to TMZ, a “gospel rap extravaganza,” featuring DMX, has been canceled after officials at the Arizona high school where the event was to take place learned of the controversial rapper’s arrest record.

The event, which was set for Saturday, was to benefit Morning Star Sanctified Church and its pastor even took out a one-million dollar insurance policy for the concert, but that wasn’t enough to sway officials at Independence High School in Glendale Arizona. The school will refund the church’s 500-dollar deposit. DANNGGGG!!!!

We all know that DMX’s past isn’t squeaky clean, but the brotha is trying to turn his life around…cut him some slack!

I just learned that Christina gave birth to a little girl this weekend. She and her husband Dream named her “Violet”.  I’ve been told that she looks exactly like her mom. Congratulations!!!!

Billboard’s annual “Top Money Makers” list sees Beyonce leading the R&B pack, earning over 23 million dollars last year. Having spent much of the year on the road in support of her multi-platinum selling “I Am…Sasha Fierce” disc, the singer made more than two million in album royalties alone and places her at number 13 on the list. Now that is a chick about her money!

Oh and if you haven’t heard already, Jill Scott and Maxwell are going on tour (clapping my hands in excitement)….. Neo-Soul will make a comeback this spring, when Jill Scott and Maxwell hit the road together on an arena tour. All the dates haven’t been announced yet, but the jaunt is set to kick off May 21st in Cleveland and make stops in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Washington D-C, before wrapping in June.

Wait…Akon Had A Radio Show???

Well he “HAD” one in London. According to Perez Hilton, “The R&B star was supposed to host a two-hour show every Saturday night for Capital FM.” His radio show debuted February 13th, but after that there was no more AKON!

A spokesperson from the radio station announced:

Due to Akon’s commitments, including working on a brand new album, we won’t be broadcasting a regular show on 95.8 Capital FM for the time being. Our conversations about future shows are ongoing as we explore other opportunities that may work for both of us.”

Insiders tell me Akon was a bit lewd on the radio and that’s the REAL REASON they ditched him…. radio isn’t for everyone.
