Andrea Kelly Responds To R. Kelly’s ‘Notebook’ Claim About Their Marriage

R. Kelly revealed in his new book, Soulacoaster, that he knew his marriage was over after seeing the movie “The Notebook.” The singer turned author claimed,
The Notebook was beautiful, and I was crying because its hero and heroine had died together, but I was also crying because … my marriage had died, and there was nothing I could do to bring it back.”
R’s ex, Andrea Kelly, responded to his claim on a recent appearance on “Bethenny,” stating,
Nobody’s marriage is ’The Notebook,’ it’s a movie. I live in the real world. So to me, marriage is work. It’s hard times. It’s difficult. It’s happy. It’s sad. There are ups and downs. So, until you find me a movie that can do that in two hours, don’t base your relationship off of a movie.”
Well said Andrea! I found R. Kelly’s statement kind of odd. It seemed like he wanted to use the movie as a scapegoat. What do you think about his statement and Andrea’s response?
