Split: Kimora Lee Simmons & Djimon Hounsou?

After a five-year successful relationship, are Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou separating for good?
Recent reports suggests that music mogul Russell Simmons’ ex-wife was in financial difficulty after placing her six bedroom home in Beverly Hills, California on the market for $4.7 million; more than $1 million less than her purchase price in 2007.
Kimora quickly took to Twitter to blast reports of money troubles, writing, “Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+DON’T live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin (sic) apart?! Rumors, rumors…”
However, she never did address the main topic- the status of her and Djimon. Her representative released a statement which simply said, “Kimora has a beautiful family life.”
A publicist for “Blood Diamond” actor Djimon has also dodged the split rumours, saying, “Djimon’s been working in Vancouver for the past few months.”
According to the source, when Russell decided to put the breaks on his cash, Simmons and Hounsou’s marriage started to crack. “Djimon walked out on Kimora,” says the source, who adds that the split may have been prompted by Simmons’ ex-husband’s decision to stop funding the pair’s lifestyle.” ”Kimora lives as if she’s the queen of England,” the insider said. A source close to the couple also stated that over the Christmas and New Years holidays, they sensed tension between the couple.
Kimora began dating Hounsou in March 2007 after separating in 2006 from Russell. They had two daughters together, 12-year-old Ming and 9-year-old Aoki, before divorcing in 2009. In the summer of 2008, Simmons and Hounsou participated in a traditional Beninese commitment ceremony. In May 2009, their son Kenzo Lee Hounsou was born.
