Are Black Fathers Going Too Hard?
What is going on with African-American fathers trying too hard to protect their teenage daughters? Earlier this week, a Florida man made headlines after shooting an 18-year-old boy he’d found in bed with his 16-year-old stepdaughter.
Now a 33-year-old New York state man has been arrested for almost severing his 17-year-old stepdaughter’s hand with a samurai sword after he’d caught her in the act with her boyfriend.
Both men are facing serious charges.

My husband and I, have 6 kids. 4 of which are girls. The teen-age girls need strong fathers in their lives to add discipline and protection. I think black men should remain hard. Their daughters are precious to them. First it was said black men are not raising their children. Now the ones that are, Are going to Hard. PLEASE!!!

Well in the eyes of the law its illegal for an 18 year old to have sex with a 16 year old and some of these guys are losers that we definitely don’t want our daughters with in any aspect of their lives. But shooting him is extreme, and if the father is in jail who will protect his little girl then.
And we need to be putting the real sex offenders in prison, but they seem to get away with serving only 6 months to 2 yrs, and thats if they see a jail cell at all.
33yrs old?!!?! and the stepdaughter is 17? he probably was mad cause she was giving it away to someone else and not him. I wonder how old is her mother? This story makes me sick.
You gotta let a hoe be a hoe! Between rap videos, the radio, all the fake ass hypocrites in church and the movies, these young girls don’t stand a chance of staying virgins until they get married. But if a dad sees his daughter in the act of some gross immoral sin then he just needs to except that she’s a hoe and be done with it. If he wasn’t teaching her the benefits of making a man pay for her cow ass before he got the milk then he failed as a father…
@Jack Daniels….I would like to add also, how are they suppose to act when the mothers are still in the club every week poppin bottles and dressing like the daughters. And to have a 33yr old as a step father, he is still wet behind the ears. Boy bye!
It’s all said but true, i agree fathers need to stay on their daughters, but not to too hard, cause that’s when the daughters end up reaaly being sneaky, im 23 with a daughter whos not even a year old yet. But i know what i did n didn’t do as a tenager and im just glad my father was around, i was good but i was bad too. Would of been all bad if dad wasnt around. But the fathers shouldnt have shot the boy, should of clled police. And cutting the daughters hand was wrong, should of punished her by grounding her & keeping more of a close eye on her. But tenagers have to learn from their mistakes, u can only teach them & tell them so much. It took for me too have a child on my own& make it work the best way i could with her father to really realize life between being stupid & growing up by learing from ur mistakes.
On the real, teens rebel whenever parents are overly protective. In the same token though, fathers do need to be honest w/their daughters about the types guys that are out there, and how they can avoid different scenarios. Alot of parents never really talk to there kids about sex, or give the whole spectrum of what sex involves. When I was younger, my mother and father never really talked to me about sex, and I got caught by my mom gettin it on. She was upset w/me, but at the same time, she couldn’t be completely pissed w/me, because we never really talked at all about sex. Being a teen, parents need to inform their kids, and make it more comfortable for kids to come to them if they have questions or concerns about sex. Fathers need to be strong and at times show some tough love, but shooting somebody your daughter wanted to have sex with anyway, or slicing your daughter is wayyyyyy overboard. FATHERS SHOULD NOT EXCEPT THEIR DAUGHTERS BEING HOES IF THEY HAVE THE CHANCE TO MAKE A CHANGE IN THEIR LIFE. iT STARTS AT HOME. kIDS CAN’T RAISE KIDS TO BE GROWNUPS, AND THAT’S WHAT’S HAPPENING ALOT NOW.

It used to be a father would kick the guys ass if they were caught in the act with their daughter. Now fathers are reacting as if it was their wife in the bed with another man. Guns, shooting, and stabbing is usually apart of a crime of passion, not being overprotctive. Sounds fishy to me.
So that’s two black men society doesn’t have to worry about. One dead and one gettin’ ready to go to jail. Also the funny thing is it wasn’t even his blood daughter and the second thing is how did he expect her to be when clearly her mom had her around like 15 or 16…this is assuming the mom is around the father’s age. Black people are so far gone they all just need to breed themselves out of the world!
These men need to learn how to be DAD’S. There’s a place in the middle where they need to be away from both extremes. Either they don’t father at all, or they take it to the extreme. They need parenting classes……
It’s one thing to kick the kids ass when caught doing what they have no business doing, but using weapons and taking lives, is over the top. The 18 yr old can be incarcerated for being with a minor. That’s exactly what I make clear with my daughters and their friends/boyfriends.
