Ooooohhhhh somebody is in trouble…..Pop/R&B diva Rihanna has been named in a $650,000 copyright lawsuit regarding her hit single ‘Please Don’t Stop The Music.‘ Michael Jackson has also been named in the suit for his song ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something.’
Manu Dibango, a 75-year-old African singer, says both Rih Rih and Jackson stole the hook from his song ‘Soul Makossa.’ Dibango filed the claim in a Paris court earlier today and a judge has until Feb. 17 to decide if the case is valid.
Jackson, who admitted to using Dibango’s hook in his song, previously reached a financial settlement with the singer. Although Rihanna did receive Jackson’s permission to sample a portion of his song, she did not receive clearance from the original singer…..I always knew Michael Jackson must’ve stolen that song from somewhere because to this day he can’t explain what “Momma Say Momma Sa Mu Makusa” meant…….aww man now that song is gonna be in my head all day (your a vegetable, your a vegetable, ohedieia your a vegetable owwww)
