Jennifer Hudson Murder Trial: William Balfour Gets 3 Consecutive Life Sentences

William Balfour has been sentenced to THREE CONSECUTIVE life sentences for the murders of three members of Jennifer Hudson’s family. He was convicted on May 11th of first degree murder in the deaths of Darnell Donerson, Jennifer’s mom, Jason Hudson, her brother, and her nephew, Julian King. He also was convicted of residential burglary and home invasion.
During the sentencing hearing, the judge looked at Balfour, who proclaimed his innocence the entire time, in the eye and said, “You have the heart of an arctic night. Your soul is as barren as dark space.”
Balfour spoke before receiving his sentencing and offered “my condolences” to the victim’s family and his prayers to Julian King. “I still do love him,” he said. Judge Charles Patrick Burns was disgusted with him. “To tell us in open court that you loved that child is an insult to all of us,” Burns said.
Balfour’s attorneys said they planned to appeal the sentence, but hopefully Jennifer and the rest of her family have received some sort of closure.
