Nicki Minaj Deletes Her Twitter Account
Nicki Minaj deleted her Twitter account this past weekend, after getting into an argument with some of her followers. The rapper was furious with her fan site, NickiDaily.com, when it leaked snippets of her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.The site has since shut down and stripped. Instead of their Barbie-related content, the site just plays “Dear Old Nicki” in a loop. Minaj’s fans, also known as her Barbies, are devastated by her leaving and in 30 days she will have to reconsider leaving the site or her account will be deactivated permanently .
After she got into a dispute with some followers, Nicki tweeted, “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f–king bye.”
She also tweeted,
And that’s exactly why I’m paying the barbz DUST right now! And deleting my twitter. Smdh – don’t cry 4 me argentina
On 2nd thought I’ll just follow a new set of barbz. The ones I follow r very mean and ratchet. *side eyes them*’
It’s unclear whether or not the site was the cause of her leaving Twitter, but as of this morning, the account was still closed. Nicki had over 11 million followers. Minaj’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Her second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, recently sold 253,000 copies in its first week in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
