Dame Dash Calls Hova A Hater

Posted on Friday, July 10th, 2009 at 9:47 am

I’m late on this one but check it out anyway if ya missed it….

Damon Dash who fell out with former friend and business partner Jay-Z a few years back wasn’t surprised to hear reports that Jay threatened to pull out of last month’s B-E-T Awards if producers allowed Chris Brown to take part in the Michael Jackson tribute. In a video interview at LiveSteez.com, Dame says, “Wasn’t I his best friend? Didn’t he do that to me? So you think he’s not gonna do it to Chris Brown? That’s his hustle. Don’t knock it.”

Dash says Brown has been through enough public scrutiny and needs to be “taught and nurtured” rather than “punished.” He adds, “You can’t mess up other people’s money. That’s not fair.”

    I totally agree with what Dame is saying. (ONLY IF THAT IS THE CASE). No one really came out from Jay-Z camp and stated that this was DEFINITELY what had happened. But again, if thats the case, I agree with Dame.

    On another note, I TOTALLY think (ONLY IF THATS THE CASE) that Jay-Z is a HYPOCRITE! One thing my grandmother told me to be careful of are those people that say what they want to benefit themselves. I was on a plane going to Miami last month and was reading this Cigar Magazine (of which Jay-Z is on the cover), and in this article he was talking about young guys being punished for things that they honestly do (at a young age) and how bad and great their punishment is. He actually compared one of his childhood friends (or some dude from the neighborhood) and how he got punished terribly for something minor, but his claim was the dude was young. Then he flipped it to how these millionaires who steal money and stoke and things like that and because of their money they get off cool. He pretty much was saying that when a dude is young, he is supposed to make mistakes and F*** up! Jay even admitted to being young and dumb in the article. HOWEVER, he finds a need to flip the script on Chris Brown…..uuuumm respect for your hustle Jay, but NO RESPECT for hypocrites. When I got work that Jay might have been the reason behind CB not performing, I addressed myself back to that article, and was like “Jay I pray no one else reads this…..because you are horrible for trying dat.”

    But I will end with this…..(IT WASN”T CONFIRMED) that he said or did anything, but IF THAT IS THE CASE………no respect from this young, black, educated sister that have mad mistakes (overwhelming, dumb mistakes) at a young age and with legal punishment and a community of nuturers I’ve overcame them and excelled to help others. Sometimes people need to look into a mirror and do a reality check! Trust me it works HOV, I had to do the same thing, and its a humbling experience! TRY IT!

    PEACE & BLESSINGS!

    @Kuti,

    How does that saying go again? There but for the grace of god go I, there but for the grace of god go I!!!!! But Kuti, the silence is deafening, no? I mean, why NOT just come out and say something, ANYTHING that’ll dispel the rumors?

    I mean, that video of Jay slapping up some girl, a BLACK girl while she was sitting down is ALL over the internet!! I’m not saying it’s right, or whatever, but that IS proof, you know? I don’t know, to me, it’s like there is more to Jay and Rhi than a ‘big brother, lil sister’ relationship, you know?

    Wasn’t Chris supposed to go on tour with MJ? Yes, he was! It’s certainly logical that he’d have wanted CB to be at ANY tribute in HIS honor!! If you can find, or remember the date of that article or even the name of the magazine, I’d do the leg work to find it and post it!!

    Dame is right on point as usual.I said it before and now im saying it again.The only People that had a right to ban CB from Michael Jackson Tribute should have been the Jackson Family.I heard that the Jackson Family wanted Chris Brown to perform.I see the truth is coming out about Jay Z.Hey Jay Z don’t forget where you came from.Money can change people but i hope it will be for the bette.r Jay come on man stop that bitch ass sh t.Hey make up with friend Dame too, be a better man than this.Money don’t buy real friends and Dame was your best friend besides Malik aka Mephis Bleek far as i know.Peace and Love Egypt!!!

    If this is true and I believe it is because like TEV229 said the silence is deafening. I can’t respect Jay for that and I’m even giving Beyonce the side eye too. Rumors about knocking Latoya L’s hustle and performance were flying around also. I know my little 15 dollars for a cd dont mean much to them but I will never buy another Jay z cd again. I think he is a hater, on a ego trip. His performance was not all that and I wanted to see Chris give a tribute to MJ. I thought he would have been the best performance of the night. Death to autotune?? Really??

    @ TEV229

    I can’t remember the name of the magazine, I think it was called “CIGAR…something”. I went to Miami in the first week of June therefore it was the most recent cigar magazine (which probably was its June cover) because it was posted forefront of the magazine stand (so I’m assuming it was recent)

    I can’t find that magaine because my BF (a Hov fanatic) hid it from me because he didn’t want to understand the truth behind what I was saying and didn’t want to hear it! LOL!
