My Week in Review Guest Hosting Afternoons at 107.5 WBLS in NYC…

This week I was guest hosting the coveted afternoon slot (2pm-6pm) on the legendary 107.5 WBLS in NYC. Actress Tichina Arnold called in to say hello and off air she shared with me that she is in negotiation for a major television project….

She asked me to keep it under wraps for now but expect a big announcement from her soon!!!

Michael Strahan also called in and got a little NY Giants -vs- NY Jets rivalry going on with Jets cornerback Darelle Revis. Michael Strahan has a new television sitcom airing on FOX called “Brothers”. I’m excited to see his acting skills, from what I hear the show is funny as hell and people will be pleasantly surprised with his acting skills.

FYI, Michael and his boo Nicole Murphy are still going strong and STAY boo loving on twitter.

Bev Kearny, coach of the University of Texas Award-winning Womens Track and Field team also checked in to lend us her expert opinion. She weighed in on the scrutiny of Olympic runner Caster Semenya and the revelation of her being a hemaphrodite. Bev explained that the IAAF which is the highest authority in track and field in the world, has to test these athletes so extensively because there have been cases of men misrepresenting themselves as women in order to compete in women’s sports.

A major motion picture is being made about Bev’s life story as the top coach in NCAA history and she has a book on the way.

For my “Where are they now?” segment, I reached out to Coko Clemons of the hit R&B supergroup SWV. She told me that SWV is currently working on a new album. Contrary to prior rumors, the girls are still together. TAJ lives in Tenessee with her husband Eddie George, LeLe lives in Atlanta, and Coko resides in Virginia Beach with her husband who is a pastor. She is also working on her second solo gospel album. Her first gospel album is called “Grateful” and was grammy nominated.

I’m ecstatic to hear SWV is back in the studio. That’s one group that should have never faded into the background. I will still buy an SWV album to this day!!!

Dr. Michelle Callahan, relationship expert, television host of Fox’s “Wedlock or Deadlock”, and author of the book “Ms. Typed” hung out with me to answer the question “If a woman is the breadwinner in a relationship, can it still be successful?”

Watch her TV show daily on the FOX Network nationally!!

One of my all time favorite Divas, Toni Braxton came to hang out. Her new album entitled “Yesterday” is due is stores October 10th. She bluntly explained that the title track was written about her husband Keri (member of Mint Condition). Toni said she called the song “Yesterday” because they were on the verge of taking a break from each other. The couple experienced the much talked about “7 year itch”.

Toni and her husband worked it out and stayed together. Her son Diezel is an autistic child and the family’s struggle to help him with his special needs has pulled them closer together as a unit.

I’ve been getting tons of texts, emails and tweets asking me how they can express their excitement about my being on the station for the week. You can go to WBLS.com and scroll to the bottom left portion of the page. *Click Here*

*****UPDATE*****

artists

Today Kelly Price, Tamia and Deborah Cox announced to my WBLS listeners that they are currently in the studio working on a full album together. It’s called “The Queen Project” and the first song completed is a remake of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”. This is Majjjjjjor!!! Those three powerhouse voices together can do some serious damage to all the lollipop R&B singers that are out now. I personally cannot wait for the album to drop becuz this sister right here will be first on Amazon to order mine.

  1. Egypt you have kicked ass every single day that I’ve been listening to you on WBLS. I never actually thought I’d be able to say this after Wendy Williams left but seriously you make me not even miss her being gone. I pray to God that station keeps you on the air permanent!!!!!!

  2. hope u get it!

  3. Goog look Egypt. I don’t live in your area so I can’t listen to your radio show, but judging from tv appearances and all, you’re definitely doin your thing. Stay sophisticated and oh SO SEXY!!

  4. Hey Egypt,

It is so good to have you back on the air you are truly missed!!! I have to admit I stopped listening to the radio because it’s not doing it for me anymore, and when I heard you were on this week it felt like old times again…

  5. I know one thing, that there Tichina Arnold can get it! PAM! PAM! PAM!

  6. Egypt you came on WBLS and in one week you raised the bar for radio broadcasters so high! Me and my coworkers and friends are still emailing each other over the weekend about things you talked about during the week. WBLS better hire you or they will be losing several of thousands of listeners who love you passionately.

  7. Ok, I don’t get it… what’s the damn point of posting a poll on-line? The last time I checked Egypt was tied with another female personality (I forget her name) at 34%. Jeff Foxx had 14%
Nothing personal, but I I think he sucks. Alot of my friends to voted for Egypt and WBLS went with this guy? Not too bright those people over there. Don’t ask people to go on-line and vote for Wendy’s replacement when you damn well already know you’re going to do what you want anyway! I don’t even listen to it from 2-6 anymore. Egypt – you are missed.
