Social media history has been made and Beyonce played a major role in making that happen.
Prior to World Humanitarian Day this past Sunday, August 19th, Beyonce released her music video for “I Was Here” in hopes to inspire people to go out and make a difference. The goal? To send out 1 billion messages of hope. Well, it did that and much more!
Valerie Amos, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said,
Thanks to the amazing work of Beyoncé and our partners, we now have a global commitment to humanitarian action. The message of people helping people is universal. Making your mark and saying ‘I Was Here’ resonates powerfully with people all over the world.”
