This past weekend, fans swarmed New Orleans for the 2012 Essence Music Festival. Performances included D’Angelo in his big return to the stage. You can see him sing his song, “Untitled” below.

Mary J. Blige gave an emotional set and left her heart out on the stage. She gave the crowd a treat and came out for not one, not two, but THREE encores!!

And of course, the legendary Aretha Franklin had people up on their feet dancing and singing along to many of her hits. Aretha also closed out her set with an emotional tribute to the late Whitney Houston by singing “I Will Always Love You.”
