Jennifer Hudson, Usher & Halle Berry Attend Whitney Houston Tribute

Last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, celebrities came out and paid an emotional tribute to the late great Whitney Houston, who the world lost much too soon this past February.
Whitney’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina and her boyfriend Nick Gordon, were seen holding hands in the audience. Jennifer Hudson opened up the show with a lively performance medley of “I’m Every Woman,” “How Will I Know” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” Usher sang “I Believe in You and Me” from “The Preacher’s Wife” soundtrack. The most heart wrenching moment of the night came when CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams closed the show out with “Count On Me” and you could see the tears falling down the faces of many in attendance.
LL Cool J, Halle Berry and Clive Davis were amongst those who spoke highly of the magic Houston possessed. Perhaps Berry said it best:
She inspired a generation of little girls and women to believe in their own dreams and to know that they had within themselves the greatest gift of all. I was one of those little girls who then became a woman who never ever, ever, stopped loving Whitney Houston.”
Whitney touched the young and the old and we all have carried that with us over time. She was THAT special and is sorely missed.
The hour-long tribute, ”We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston,” airs at 10 p.m. November 16th on CBS.
