Jay-Z Blocks Chris Brown?!?!?!?!?
I’m hearing that HOV had a little something to do with Chris Brown not being allowed to pay tribute to Michael Jackson last night. Word is that Jay-Z allegedly threatened to pullout of the show if Breezy was allowed to touch the stage.. Wow– talk about MAN POWER!! Which is crazy, because the word is that the Jackson Family wanted Breezy to do a tribute for MJ.
Now when Hov allegedly “threatened” to pull out of the show for himself and wifey Beyonce, did he think that his actions would have any repercussions… One has to wonder?? Oh well, this is Hip-Hop, so OF COURSE there are some!
There’s reportedly a petition going around on Twitter to gain signatures to ban Jay-Z from having any participation at the Michael Jackson tribute that will take place at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards… Well Well Well, now if this were to happen and such petition did make some noise, would Big Bad Hov like it if he were banned??
Although he was shut down from paying tribute to the King of Pop at the BET Awards, Chris Brown has released a statement mourning the loss of Michael Jackson…
“Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer. I am devastated by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy. My prayers are with his family. Michael will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. He’s the greatest… the best ever. No one will ever be better.”
On another note, Jay-Z had one of his moments last night at the 2009 BET Awards, where he ripped the stage down performing “D.O.A.,” but he topped that off with the world premiere to the video immediately following the live broadcast.

@ TAI…It’s not right for a mna to hit a woman but I’m sure your mama told you “If somebody…Anybody hit you then you better hit them back!” I have 2 sons of my own and I don’t think that it is right for a man to hit a woman but if she hit you then you have every right to defend yourself and I tell my boys don’t ever hit her first but if she put her hands on you, beat her like she stole sumthin’. Why is it that everyone has said that yes he was wrong but nobody talks about the fact that she used to beat on him too. Again I don’t condone it but there are 2 sides to every story and nobody has even tried to find out his side!
The BET awards were WHACK!!!! So what Jay pulled rank on Chris Brown if BET had any BACK BONE he would have known that wasn’t going to go down to begin with, and Beyonce would have stepped it up for the VMA’s and the sound sucks no matter who was on the stage by the way it was crap as well!!! Hell after Maxwell came and sung a good song they couldn’t hire some people to clean the stage, and Jamie Foxx is the biggest arogant Joke in show business, BET still has a long way to go!!! MTV wouldn’t let Lil Wayne bring out his daughter and thier friends looking like Project REJECTS!!! The crime is that BET really made a MOCKERY of Micheal Jackson more than they did HONOR him!!!! Where was Usher????? They should have just did a 10 minute tribute to Micheal and let Janet and Joe do some talking then went on with thier THIRD RATE AWARDS show!!!! I mean shouldn’t we ask for more than that, for everybody hating on Jay and Beyonce check out how they do it for real Award Shows and then JUDGE them!!!
Its is sad that ppl are so hateful of Jay-Z, yeah his lyrics portray some arrogance, but damn, at least he humbles himself. all these other wack rappers out here talking like they got it like that in person, when they don’t. Chris Brown should not have the privlige of doing the Michael Jackson tribute. Lets give him some type of punishment. Jay-Z speaks his mind, he is entitled to his opinion. If BET didnt have the balls to shut him up, then everyone should be persecuting them, not Jay-Z
To loveybeau, have you not watched the news? Chris Brown IS paying for what he did…through the court. He committed a crime and he was sentenced to do community service and other things that the LAW stated should be his punichment. JZ is an entertainer and should stay in that place of being just that. He doesnt have the right to try and block somebody from making a living, nor does he have the right to decide what someone’s punishment should be for a crime. And again, JZ DID NOT have the decency to put whatever feelings he had aside to honor a man that paved the way for EVERYBODY, including hisself. THATS NOT BEING HUMBLE, THATS BEING SELFISH! If we all could stop people from doing things just because we didnt agree with their actions nobody would be doing shit! Chris Brown is not the first man to hit a woman so yall need to stop acting like domestic violence is something new.
I also see that alot of you dont follow the news. Usher was overseas, which is why he did not perform and it wasnt JUST JZ, though he was the first to threaten to pull him and Beyonce’s performances. (I could’ve passed on seeing the both of them) CoverGirl also threatened to pull all of its endorsements if CB even stepped on the stage. Just think about it….a big company like CoverGirl pulling all of their money….hell BET didnt want to lose that. Im mad at JZ for being ignorant and even mentioning a threat to ban CB. That was very selfish when that show had nothing to do with how WE feel about CB, but how we feel about MJ. If MJ was already buried he’d be turning in his grave. He went through alot of hell about legal situations so I know he would have never cast such a stone at a person and furthermore, MJ was forgiving. CB idolized MJ and if anybody could do him justice it would be CB. It is a shame how ignorant us Black people still make ourselves look. All we do is try to hold back the next Black brother or sister like we’re God. Nobody has the right to judge Chris Brown. He has dealt with the justice system and the only other person he must answer to is God.
I am so tired of us (Black People) talking about how MJ went through so much and broke down barriers for us all that CRAP!!!! MJ didn’t even want to be ONE OF US!!! As far as breaking down doors if the White fans wouldn’t have liked the King of POP then MTV still wouldn’t have played his music!!! Don’t get me wrong I love Thriller and the rest of the hits but thats about it. MJ was a child molester, and a sellout!!! Sorry but that isn’t a person I want my son too look up too, Dance and Sing is all he did the two things Blacks ARE EXPECTED TO DO BEST along with play sports and be criminals<<>>!!! But forreal though MJ was a great entertainer but a Great Black Liberator of Black MnaKind he wasn’t! I know about all those kids he gave money too and the trips to Africa, heck the only difference between him and Madonna, and Angelina Jolie is that he left the kids there!
This is how the industry works. Jay Z may not have manhandled CB off of the stage single-handedly, but he played an active role. Let’s connect the dots if we may. Who sponsored the BET awards? Covergirl. Who’s a leading spokesperson for Covergirl? Rihanna. Who’s Rihanna’s mentor? Jay-Z. What could make Covergirl reconsider? Jay-Z money. Money always talks, because if morals and common decency played into this, Little Miss thang would have been dropped a while back.
I just truly wish BET could represent the black culture, instead of that divine idiocy that continues to broadcast on one of my cable channels. That night could have been their chance to prove to the world why the channel shouldn’t have been pulled a decade ago, but instead they had to make a fool of themselves and of music in general. It was tasteless and disrespectful, to Michael and to the audience. JayZ should not meddle in others personal affairs and neither should his wife. The night clearly revolved around the Carter’s seeing as a tribute to Michael never happened. Beyonce pulled the set off of her tour and Jay just needed promotion. Well sad to say (but not really) that they got the level of attention they hoped for, just in a negative way. Chris did a bad thing and it’s understandable that it shouldn’t be justified, but it’s time to let that shit go. He had his day in court and took a harsh punishment (celebrity or non-celebrity). That young man still has a lot to grow from, but singing and entertaining is his job. JayZ does not have a say in what he can and can not do. I guess I’ll never understand why a man at the age of 40 is trying so desperately to ruin someone half his age. Just pathetic. No comment on the REVEREND Al Sharpton’s involvement. He should be ashamed of himself.
I think Chris should have been allowed to perform at the BET Awards. He is the only one that could have possibly done a great job at honoring the genius and legendary Michael Jackson. I don’t think I liked Jamie Foxx hosting the show. I don’t know whether I should be offended or ashamed at his “honoring” the KING of POP. Now, don’t get me wrong, some of his hosting duties was entertaining, but I felt slightly ashamed that he thought MJ just belonged to us Black Americans. MJ was definitely universal. He was so beloved by many from all over the world. I just think that when MJ went through a lot of his personal troubles, why didn’t these celebrities reach out to him then? They could have gotten in touch with, sent an email, or a phone call or just given him the encouragement and the love that he so deserved. Now, everyone wants to say that they were always there for him and praise him dearly. Well, its too late for that. I have never wavered in my opinion of MJ. He was always the greatest and the best at his game. I could go on and on, but Monique would have done a better job I think. Jamie has gotten too big for his own good.
One i would like to say that im really sure Michael wouldn’t like what Jay Z did.Because it was just plain rude who are you to say who can and who can’t pay respects to someone who inspired them. And i hope it is one going around because i would sign it a million times. Two Jay Z is so childish he comes back to diss people about how they selling their music stop hating and go lay in bed and cry because no one reallly likes you anymore.I wish Chris Brown would have performed at the awards instead of jay z.Because Jay Z performence was the dumbest of the night and i turned the ch. when he came on yep sure did!!!!And to all Chris Brown haters people make mistakes only difference is he’s in the spotlight with his.And i still don’t think he should have been blocked from the awards.Because this night was for MICHAEL JACKSON ,KING OF POP .PLAIN AND SIMPLE and not JAY Z not matter how much you wanted it too.And i could have swore that it was BET who was pose to be running the show all i want to know is why jay z got his way anyway and why he had anything to say in the first place sounds like something shady to me iif you ask me.And all because he said he was gone pull his self out the show so what you were not that good anyway.SSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO WWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT no one really cares.
Also i think they could have done more i understand they only had a certain amount of time but we’re talking about MICHAEL JACKSON ,KING OF POP so no really didn’t like the show. And plus they should have honored him along time ago.It shouldn’t have to take for him to pass before they think about honoring him and letting him really know he was and will always be loved. But he’s in a better place and dancing entertaining in heaven.RIP KING OF POP I MISS AND LOVE YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU NO ONE WILL EVER TAKE HIS PLACE NO MATTER HOW HARD THEY TRY. lOVE YOU MICHAEL YOU’LL NEVER BE REPLACED OR FORGOTTEN AND YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE THROUGH THE MUSIC AND MOVES YOU LEFT US.
But on a lighter note i believe Jamie Foxx was a great host.Because though most people came and watched with a heavy heart. He made it better with making us laugh wearing Michael’s clothes and tryin to dance like him MAN I DIED!!!!!And when Janet came on stage it brought tears to my eyes but i broke down when Jamie and Ne Yo performed I’LL be there at the end.
Jay claims he hats rats but what he did to CB was rat-like behaviour. His motives where full of player hating. Who does he think he is to attempt denying Chris paying his respects. He is childish and should grow the fcuk up
SugaSweet, i know you think Chris Brown doing probation and community service is payment for his crime but is it? Would you say the same thing if he beat your face in? I don’t think so. Domestic Violence isnt new, but it is a crime that should not be swept under the rug like dust and forgotten about. Victims deserve more than that. I do not agree with what Jay-Z did. I am not defending that. I just want a great tribute for Michael Jackson as well as any other fan. But its hard to give someone this honor whom doesnt deserve it no matter how well he would do it justice!
Lets just agree to disagree and leave it at that.
First of off, who is Jay-Z to judge someone, when he doesn’t claim his son in the public eye. He is walking around like he some king or something when actually his music SUCKS!!!! And as far as his wifey, I like her music and dancing and videos and all, but that nubmer she did on the BET awards show was horrible. Bey please don’t do that number agina on TV. And Jay-Z, get your ugly big lipped self somewhere and sit down. You call yourself a man , then be a man and me a mentor to Chris Brown and instead of ousting him out of the public. It is obvious that he didn’t have a real man to look up to growing up and he is still a baby himself, so quit judging him and judge yourself. On second, thought, maybe you (Jay-Z) is the one that needs mentoring. Anyway, leave Chris alone.
I can believe jay-z did this because he is selfish. Let’s not forget he also hit a woman in the face. How soon do we forget? BET has been garbage since Bob Johnson sold it. How would they like it if we all boycott it for putting those wack reality shows on. Anyways, they did a diservice to the Jackson family. Michael love CB and vice versa. I pray to God that we get it together and stop judging each other and leave that to God. CB is still so young and while I don’t condone his actions there are two sides to every story. I can name about 10 people that came on stairs that has been arrested for domestic abuse, but they were still allowed to pay tribute.
Jay Z is a big fake ass hypocrit. How dare he. I would gladly sign a thousand petitions to keep him from any memorial relating to MJ. Number one MJ loved Chris Brown. Number two, Jay Z stabbed Lance “un” Rivera in 1999 and plead guilty. He was sentenced to three years probation and settled a civil suit for over a half million. My point is if he is so hood as he claimed to be in his rhymes, he might understand how RI RI was not as innocent as she claimed to be. She know her home girls helped her hook her face up. Yall know the play. Number three, you better tend to Bey and stop worrying so much about Ri. She is a big girl she can handle her own. Lastly in the words of Jay Z. the hypocrite, C Breezy got 99 problems, but you bitch aint one!
Lance “un Rivera people look it up pleaseeee. Jay Z, did your career suffer because of your violent actions or did it give you a boost? Hmmm? you started THe ROC with your so called home boy Damon Dash! How did that work out for you? I guess I shouold ask Damon Dash that question huh? Unethical… Hypocrite…. All I can say is Niggas who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones. Its just a matter of time before you and Beyonce are rocked with some hellified scandal. How will you want your fans to treat you. CuZ Im gonna dog you and her. Beyonce should not let you say you gonna pull her from the show if you dont get your way. It make her look real STUPID. After all you was screwing Ri Ri right? Dang you got ur wifey supporting your HOE! Dang you are big pimpin spending g’s
