Star Jones & Egypt Are Bringing Healthy Back!

Yesterday Star Jones and myself teamed up with the American Heart Association for Harlem Go Red For Women Educational Forum & Luncheon in NYC.

Hundreds of women came out to join the force of “bringing healthy back” and vowed to CHOOSE to live well. Studies have proven that heart disease is the NO.1 killer of women, and one African American woman dies per minute due to heart disease. Ladies we need to take our health back!
Let’s start with acting F.A.S.T. If your F.ace, A.rm, S.peech are feeling awkward, then it’s T.ime to go to the hospital because those are key signs that you could be having a stroke. Our society is so consumed with working to afford our living, that we forget to LIVE. Take time for yourself, exercise and implement a healthy diet.

Former NBA player, Cuttino Mobley shared a touching story about being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition that causes the heart muscle to thicken, making it harder to pump blood. This illness ultimately forced him to retire from the league.

Star Jones, Dr. Clyde W. Yancy and I had a great discussion about the facts of heart disease and came to the conclusion that when you know better, you do better.
I’m sure heart disease has already touched you or someone you love, so help save a woman’s life today and for the days to come.
Thank you to all the beautiful women who came out to show their support and a special thanks to my dear friends Johnny Nunez, Dr. Catrise Austin, and others for standing up to make a difference….

I must say, Star you look fabulous!

Visit the American Heart Association and help save a life today. Who knows, it could be your very own.
GO RED!
