Last night the 2013 Billboard Music Awards were held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and there were quite a few memorable performances.

Erykah Badu and Janelle Monae introduced the most talented icon of the night, Prince, who closed out the show.

Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne performed “High School” and we saw a whole LOT of Minaj’s assets. She gave Weezy a seductive lap dance which I’m sure her Barbs loved every second of!!!

And the moment that will be remembered came when Miguel hit the stage to perform his hit, “Adorn.” Of course the man can SANG, but when he attempted what some are calling a ‘failed semi-stage dive,’ he hit two women at the side of the stage. Luckily, everyone was okay.

And Chris Brown showed off his killer dance moves which saved him due to his lack of vocal skills on “Fine China.”

Following his performance, he tweeted,

Lil hoarse for the performance but it happens. Good sh-t otherwise.”

Lil Wayne was hospitalized and released after suffering another seizure last night in L.A. Sources close to Weezy say he had a seizure late last night and was treated and released early this morning. The rapper suffered multiple seizures back in March that led to him being placed in ICU and according to some sources, near death. After many expressed concerns over the health scare, Lil Wayne shared in a radio interview that he suffers from epilepsy and has since he was a child.

A few days before this latest health scare, the rapper was spotted sitting court side at the Lakers game and appeared to be in good health and spirits. Rumors have also been swirling about the rapper being engaged to to his girlfriend Dhea after he shared, “My fiancee is Italian” in an interview with “Jersey Shore” alum Vinny Guadagino on his new MTV show “The Show With Vinny.”

Wayne is also set to embark on a new tour with T.I. and Future in July.

I think it’s safe to say this month has been a tough one on Lil Wayne.

After he suffered multiple seizures and ended up in the ICU for days, Weezy has now opened up in an interview explaining what caused his major health scare. He also addressed the rumors that were being reported, such as he was on his death bed and being read his last rites.

On the seizures & the cause behind them:

The bad news is I’m an epileptic. I’m prone to seizures. This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, ya’ll just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious….But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though.”

I have people around me. I actually have [the seizures] so much they already know what to do. They already know how to handle it. Certain times I don’t even go to the hospital, but this time, it was real bad because it was three in a row, and I’ve never had three back to back like that.  The third one was so bad and I live in the hills in L.A. So the reason why it was bad was that I live all the way at the top, so you know how hard it is getting down those hills. That was what was so scary about it.”

On false rumors & TMZ reports that he was near death:

That’s what they do. I can’t be upset at that. I get upset at my kids when they do things that I tell them not to do. I can’t be upset at TMZ for doing what they do. They gon’ probably come out tomorrow and say something else about somebody else that ain’t true. That’s what they do. The truth isn’t good enough for them, so they gotta twist everything up.”

Lil Wayne is out of the hospital, according to his Young Money associate Mack Maine.

Last night, Maine told his Twitter followers that the rapper had finally left Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles. He’d been hospitalized there since last week after suffering from a seizure. Mack Maine also tweeted his thanks to the hospital and added, “God is great.”

Let’s hope Weezy takes it easy now & no more slizzurp!!!

UPDATE:

As we reported earlier, Lil Wayne was seen in a pic with Big Boi in New Orleans last night and it appeared his dreads were chopped off. Well, you can all breathe a sigh of relief now. Weezy’s still got ‘em!!!

His boy Mack Maine posted the above photo to ensure everyone that Wayne still has his dreadlocks. When you get the side angle  view, you can see that they’re just pulled back.

Lil Wayne has been known for his dreadlocks since back in the 2000′s when his career began with the Hot Boyz. Last night, Weezy was hanging out with Big Boi of Outkast at the MaddenBowl XIX at the Bud Light Hotel in his hometown of New Orleans and in a picture it appears that those infamous locks are gone. Or are they just pulled back????

Rapper Lil Wayne has added yet another tattoo to the many he already has on his face. He got the word ‘Baked’ tattooed on his forehead. Believe me, I can’t make this stuff up!!

The rapper, who’s an avid skateboarder as well, is said to have gotten the tattoo to pay homage to his skateboard company, Baker. The new ink joins other tats on his face which include teardrops and a lightning bolt.

Lil Wayne’s Carter IV may have not gone platinum in it’s first week but it did post some incredible numbers.

Nielson Soundscan reports that Wayne’s release had the second biggest debut with 964,000 copies sold in it’s premiere week. Lady Gaga takes credit for the most sold in it’s first week with 1.1 million of her Born This Way album. Tha Carter IV sold 300,000 copies on the first day on Itunes smashing Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne debut. That is a huge feat for Wayne even though Tha Carter IV leaked a week before it’s intentional release date!

Congratulations to Lil Wayne and Young Money on an incredible first week.

Lil Wayne’s new video has some pretty deep meaning behind it.

Directed by Chris Robinson, the video features a young woman experiencing every problem imaginable. She first decides against abortion on the operating table and then proceeds to suffer abuse from her boyfriend as they try to raise a baby together. We also take a look at her past with child abuse and then fast forward to the present day where, in order to survive and provide for her child, she turns to prostitution. The end result: she contracts HIV. Definitely a lot to digest.

The latest from the rumor mill involves 16-year-old Sarah, (last name unknown), who has taken to Youtube to clear up rumors that she had relations with Lil Wayne. The teen had the opportunity to meet the rapper last week after his show in Montreal and was invited back to his tour bus. She later uploaded photos and commented that she had just spent the night with Lil Wayne. This ignited the blogging community to start rumors that potentially placed Weezy in hot water considering the fact that he’s still on probation.

So, a ‘thoughtful’ Sarah has now clarified that she spent the night with him as in hung out with and didn’t have sex with him.

I guess everyone is entitled to their 15 mins of fame these days. SMH. Peep the video below:

The R&B sensation that is Beyonce took it to another level with an interactive special effects show and a hundred dancers during her performance of “Run the World (Girls)” that was by far the best performance of the night. Mrs. Knowles-Carter definitely proved she deserved to be honored with the Millennium Award; her performance was nothing short of amazing! Immediately following her ground-breaking performance, she was given her award by her mother Tina Knowles and nephew Julez. During a surprising moment in her acceptance speech, she thanked Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child as well as the previous members Letoya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. She also shouted out her “best friend” and hubby by saying, “I Love me some Jay-Z” and giggling. How cute!

The queen of hip-hop soul, Mary J. Blige hit the stage and gave a hot performance of her new single, “Someone to Love Me” with rapper Lil’ Wayne.

Nicki Minaj gave a cute and animated performance of her latest song, “Super Bass” with some nice eye candy for the ladies. *wink* She then went into her part on “Til the World Ends” with Britney Spears who came back out to perform the song with her. It was nice to see the two on stage together, to get an idea of what to expect on their upcoming tour.

One of the best awards shows I’ve seen in a long time, kudos to Billboard! Congrats to all of the honorees and the winners! What was your favorite performance??
