‘Behind The Music-Aaliyah’ Re-Airs On VH1
Last night, VH1 looked back on the life and legacy of Aaliyah on “Behind The Music.”
22-year-old Aaliyah lost her life, along with 8 other passengers, when their plane crashed in the Bahamas in August 2011. She had been shooting the music video for “Rock The Boat” on the island.
Many of you may have seen this special back when the world tragically lost their R&B princess much too soon, but last night when it re-aired, it included new footage and interviews with her close friend, Missy Elliott, and hip-hop writer, Nelson George.
The show took you inside her funeral and showed just how many lives she touched as her fans lined the streets to give their respects, as well as coverage of her first movie role in, “Romeo Must Die.’ It also covered her relationship with her last love, Damon Dash.
