Diddy does it again!
He’s teamed up with reality show guru Mark Burnett to create “Starmaker”, a new reality show slated to run this summer on MTV.

I hear Rodney Jerkins will appear as mentor/head judge on the show where aspiring solo artists will live together as they compete for a record deal with Combs’ Bad Boy label and the opportunity to have Jerkins produce one or two songs. “When I was first asked about doing this, I thought, ‘Oh no, another talent show,’” says Jerkins. “But the show has since proven to me there’s always more talent out there that needs to be discovered. They just need a platform. As for his transition from hit-making producer to judge, Rodney notes it’s “about being real. I’m the most frank person you’ll ever meet. Simon ["American Idol" judge Cowell] doesn’t have anything on me,” he adds with a laugh.

American Idol “Starmaker” contestants will perform in front of an audience each week as they also strive to sharpen their performance skills, handle photo shoots and deal with paparazzi.

    I think Diddy needs to perfect the careers of the artists he’s already ruined, oops, I meant started. He is the king of “Make Them then Break Them”. My advice to any artists, if you see Diddy coming, RUN THE OTHER WAY…don’t look into the light. Ask, 112, Total, Dream, Carl Thomas, The Lox, Craig Mack, Loon, Faith, G-Dep, Da Band, and any other artists he’s worked with. To all of them I say, WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
    Mary J. Blige was smart enough to jump ship. Cassie might have a shot because she’s screwing him. And part of the reason Danity Kane had problems and Day 26 are having problems is not just because of the riff amongst themselves, but also because Diddy is screwing them over financially. Hell, that would make any bandmember bitter and crazy. So, anything with Diddy’s name on it…I’d run the other way unless you want 5 minutes of fame and a lifetime of your career being in the garbage.
