Kanye To Join Cartoon Cast
As if performing on American Idol last Wednesday wasn’t enough, Kanye West capped off a week of work at FOX in L.A. Thursday by sitting in on a table read of new animated sitcom The Cleveland Show.
“It was surprising to us that [he] was so into it that he came to the table [read], and wonderfully surprising how cool he was, how funny he was and how unassuming he was,” says executive producer Mike Henry, who voices Cleveland Brown and other characters on the show. “He’s just a great presence. We knew Kanye was a big Family Guy fan because he invited [creator] Seth [MacFarlane] to his house a year or two ago,” adds Henry. “And there was a mention on his blog when the spin-off was announced that he was excited about it. We knew he was a big fan and a lot of us are fans of his.”
New to the art of voicing animation, West came early to meet the cast and the writers. Soaking up the table-read process, West, 31, got pointers from series regular Sanaa Lathan, who plays Cleveland Brown’s wife Donna, and excelled at improvisation. Also in the episode, which will air in 2010, is Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson. The Cleveland Show is set to premiere on FOX in the fall of 2009.
Producers are in talks to write Kanye into the next 21 episodes as a character named Kenny West.

Mark my words this is going to turn out bad. Kanye will show up late, be hard to work with and not take direction well. He thinks he’s the biggest star in the world. His ego will get the best of him and they’ll boot him off the show. The charm or whatever the people behind the show saw when he came in for the reading will fade when Kanye starts acting like Kanye.
5 bucks says before the 5th episode he suggests they rename it to The Kanye Show.

Kanye is talented, but the way he acts is doing to seriously hinder his staying power in the industry. The way he whines when he doesn’t win awards, the way he shows up late to interviews and has the biggest ego in the world. All the talent in the universe won’t help him stay in the spot light. And in the end he acts like an asshole. Read any interview with him, he’s borderline insane. I’m NOT hating, I own some of his music, but shit like running out on stage at an award show when somebody else wins for best video and screaming at them and disrupting the whole show and basically trying to throw tar at the winner. THAT SHIT IS NOT COOL. And that is typical Kanye, I’m not hating just telling the daam truth. He’s a baby and needs to grow the f*ck up.
