Oprah Scraps Favorite Things
This economic climate has hit everyone- including Oprah!
According to the Huffington Post, Oprah has scrapped plans to do her “favorite things” show this year, which usually falls on the week of Thanksgiving to kick off the holiday season. A Harpo employee told the paper, that they “have no plans this season for a ‘Favorite Things’”.
For seven years Oprah’s favorite things episode has been the most sought after ticket in town. Audience members would scream, cry and probably suffer heart palpatations for over an hour while getting bombarded with numerous “of the moment products”.
Perhaps Oprah’s recent announcement to sign off of her show in 2011 has caused cutbacks across the board. I’m hoping she’ll bring it back one more time before she signs off the airwaves.

This is just the time to invite people who don’t have much, and give them things. I’m not talking about people with North Shore addresses. But everyday average people.
I liked that she didn’t do the show because Oprah has been through a lot since she endorsed and campaigned for Prez Obama. It was the manufacturers and retailers who really profited and since they feel she has too much power, who’s else can take companies from obscurity to million dollar sales as she has done for many or can account for a nice chunk of large of established brands and retailers annual gross sales with a mere mention or two? Screw all her haters, of course, she had to leave while the show was still on top and she does have other interests to pursue and she will be sorely missed by many and they’ll be just that many less millionaires, especially, white ones made and all the other white people who are happy the show is ending don’t matter, blacks who can’t stand her, well, there aren’t too many black people we like anyway. I wish her well and know she’s transitioning into something even more fulfilling for herself first and then everybody else second!
