In Orange Country a 94-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his 81-year-old roommate in a nursing home. Authorities say William McDougall allegedly beat Manh Ban Nguyen to death with a bar used to hang clothes from a closet.
Police found Nguyen bludgeoned at Palm Terrace Heatlhcare Center. He was later pronounced dead at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.

If the 81 yr. old had dementia, the nursing home is in a lot of trouble for not protecting the older man who was probably defenseless and helpless. All the more reason why budgets to nursing homes should not be cut. Senior citizens need lots of assistance with activities of daily living. Having fewer staff on duty is a disaster waiting to happen.
